I have been thinking about this for ahwile and I'm sure its been posted before, but haven't you wondered how its possible for us to even think of beating them? We have crappy technology, lower intelligence and only spartans stand a chance against them. Unless more Spartans come into play in Halo 2 I don't think the odds are too good for the humans.

But now lets suppose we started taking their technology. Board their ships, hack into their computer filess, steal vehicles/weapons or blueprints for new vehicles and weapons. Then if we can find the resources to actually build these things, we might be able to win.

I understand that this is a very far fetched idea and bungie probably has something better in mind, but I just figured that could be one way to win. Especially since in the E3 video MC is trying to get on a covenant cruiser at the end until some Elites interrupt him.

What do you guys think? Stupid, cool, don't care? Post your opinions.

You need to read First Strike also before coming up with theories.

Oh, I'm not trying to say your theory was bad or anything, but reading First Strike will help you a lot.

Humans are smarter than the Covenant, Cortana said in First Strike after fiddling with the Plasma turrets on The Ascendant Justice that they (The Covenant) could have made it much more efficient. And that when Cortana gets back to earth and give ONI and the Humans all of this new info on how to build this stuff that the Huamns have a fighting chance. Cortana said "It was possible for the Humans to win, all they need is some time" Which I would presums is to get the new Slip Space Drive operation, shielding for their ships and plasma canons and stuff. Humans are superior to Covenant, We just need time to make new ships to fight with.

Cool. Thats pretty much what I was talking about. But I didn't know that the humans were smarter. I guess we could beat them and make some awesome weapons but we don't have the right or at least enough of the right material.

I just started reading The Fall of Reach today; pretty interesting about all the stuff the Spartans had to go through in training.

Remeber, Cortana didn't exactly say that Humans were smarter than the Covenant, she just said that The Covenant were more adaptive, whereas Humans are more innovative. Which probably mean when Cortana gets the Intel on the Covenant and Forerunner technology to ONI, we can probably expect the Humans to make the weaponry even better than the covenant. Just a guess though.

ahh, you've over looked a very simple conclusions... the covenant is extremely based on the higher ranks and the orders that come from the "top"... so to take out their command structure would throw them into dissaray.... how might we do this? simple kill the prophets

i think that with enough human ground soldiers (and lot of snipers would help) the humans could beat the covenant on the ground... its just in space battles they got absolutely destroyed...

well in the books, (I forget which one in particular) it says that the covies use most, if not all of the forerunners technology. So, the covies don't have anything which they have not taken. So, I think that they are not smarter than humans.

Just a comment.

Yeah, good luck with that *SPOILERS*

It says in the book that near the Covenant homeworl, not a single rock can be in the space over a centimeter in width/ length without it being identified, targeted and vaporized, by the hundreds of Covie ships orbiting, the access codes are changed hourly and if you pause for a second with the correct codes, then you will be vaporized. Even if you could get past the ships and ono the ground, there are tons of defensive structures and Elites/Brutes guarding the place. It said that the Prophet of Truth or something had 300 Guards guarding him THREE-HUNDRED! Take into account that they were most likely all brutes, or a high portion at least, and a brute is as fast as MC, STRONGER than MC in his MJOLNIR suit, can take a FULL clip of Battle Rifle bullets without slowing down and have grenade launchers.

Sounds simple enough.... [/sarcasm]
