Subject: Something Tragic Happened to Halo CE

Keep your friends close... Keep your enemies in your crosshairs.

Check out "The Revokers" at Bungie.net.

Halo: CE fans, picture this. After a long day at school/work you came home and, instead of playing Halo3, you wanted to play Halo:CE. So, you pop your disc in to your 360 (or original xbox for the oldschool gamers, who rock) and this message pops up:
Disc unreadable. This disc may be damaged or dirty.
So, you figure your game is just dirty, but you take out the disc and THERE'S A HUGE FREAKING CRACK ON THE BOTTOM!!!!!

How would you react?

-Sic transit gloria mundi

I'd be upset.

Then I would go to Best Buy and buy a new copy for ten bucks (they're still on sale in some locations!)

If not there, I'd used Games on Demand to get it on my 360.

"Only the dead have seen the end of war." - Plato

Well, I have it from games on demand for my 360 so...

I used to have a disk, but I traded it in a LONG time ago.

Let there be CHAOS!

Well I've got my Halo PC disc image ripped onto my computer, so losing the physical media wouldn't be a big deal for me.

But I guess if I didn't have the backup image, I'd be like *sadface* and I'd go rebuy it in an instant. Can't be without a copy of Halo.

I got it via Marketplace to avoid such a catastrophy.

Ten bucks is nothing when it comes to walking down memory lane with Cortana.

AL is preventing me from having fun. It is also preventing a lot of people from having fun. People who defend AL say they can live without it. It is obviously unfair in many ways.

SO WHY DON'T WE REMOVE/TWEAK IT?

Also, yes, I do goose.

I wouldn't be obsessing, because I can play it online on my computer.

This literally happened to me just a few days ago. My copies of Halo and Halo 2 just stopped working out of nowhere. That's what I get for buying a used copy at Gamestop, I suppose. I wasn't really p.o.ed because I had the beta to play. However, I did go on a frantic search to find a new one. I went to Walmart and Gamestop, but they either didn't have it or had a really cruddy copy. Thank God for Best Buy. I managed to get a new one there and I have been reliving the old days like new again. I wasn'truly angry, but I was stunned and worried that I wouldn't be able to find another copy.

Attitudes are contagious, mine might kill you.

If you're looking for my Halo 2 online records my account was "Destri" back then, but for some reason xbox live won't let me link it to my bungie profile :( Well whatever I guess.

For some reason my CE disk occasionally says unreadable, but I just pop it out and put it back in and it usually works. Weird.

In the Emperor's name, you shall not falter!

I have a copy on the computer and another one on the xbox, just to be safe.

"This is not a war, but a campaign for extermination"- X11

Like I told my last wife, I said "Honey, I never drive faster than I can see and besides...it's all in the reflexes."

I disagree that it's worth 15 bucks for the following reasons:

1. A new hard copy is ten bucks at best buy pretty much all the time.
2. Games on Demand games didn't bother to fix any of the issues that backwards compatible games on the 360 have had since day one.
3. Real copy is better than digital copy any day.
4. You can't play that digital copy on anything but your own 360. I can play my disc on any Xbox or 360 (and it will run better on the original Xbox too)
