Hey Guys,
I am from Singapore and have been playing Halo2 on live since december last year. I have a fast net connection (2000 upload, 512 download), but because of my location I still frequently get lag when playing aginst games with mainly US players. This is understandable because the hosting of the game is passed to where most people will get the fastest possible connection...though this makes rumble pit distinctly unenjoyable for me.
When, however, I team up with other Singaporeans for double team or team slayer, we actually get to host the game about 50% of the time (sometimes more because we have quite a good connection here). The end result is that people playing against us in the US will lag in this instance. We are kind of tired of getting cat-called "cheaters" and "you're lagging us out!" all the time, just because - for once! - we are not lagging.
It might be helpful if you guys could explain to people how lag actually works (when it's not cheating!) in one of your weekly updates...believe me, I know how if feels.
Cheers guys,
Churchwolf.
