i dont actually know where to post my suggestions to halo 3, if you are even taking them, so here goes nothing.
1. Weapon types
there should be 3 weapon types, 1 1/2 handed weapons, 2 handed weapons, and new 2 1/2 handed weapons. 1/2 handed weapons can be held by themselves and you can throw grenades with them, or duel wield them, 2 handed weapons so you can throw grenades, but not duel wield, and 2 1/2 handed weapons, you cant throw grenades or duel wield.
2. New Weapons
well of course the fuel rod cannon should be added to halo 3, a human version of the sword (most likely a big knife of some sort), replace the needler with a 2 handed version of it that is similar to the shotgun (example: you shoot and 10 needles stick in someone at short range, blow em up, further back wont do as much), the carbine should be energy like the plasma rifle, not like the battle rifle; the plasma pistol should be deprived the o-so-controversial power to charge, and instead be just beefed up a little bit; the flamethrower, the jackal shield and a human riot shield, the plasma turret made so it can actually be useful, and the 2 1/2 handers; human and covenant mobile turrets, and the rocket launcher should become a 2 1/2 handed weapon, as well as the fuel rod cannon. You should add a human version of the brute shot, which would lob more powerful grenades.
3. New Vehicles/ vehicle functions
First, the wraith should be equiped with a secondary plasma cannon like in campaign, tanks dont need to be fast, rather powerful. A gauss warthog version of the spectre (maybe have the spectre shoot mini wraith bombs or something cool), the atv, which would be a human-style ghost for variety. (handling of a hog and speed like a ghost), and a human flying vehicle (maybe a mini-pelican) and the banshee should be equipped with banshee bomb.
4. New modes of gameplay and rankings
One thing we were disappointed in not seeing, online cooperative mode. It would be so great to go online with a bunch of buddies and just kill endless amounts of covenant, or even humans! yes i said humans. You should divide the campaign into two parts, the player can choose their path, they can play as covenant or human, and based on how many kills and time beat, one can reach a new playlist record playing campaign too. campaign definitely tests a whole other part of skill of a halo player, so it should be ranked.
5. New things to do
a couple new things you should be able to do. first, if you double click, you should be able to go prone. Prone mode is the best means of cover, but you cant turn all the way around, and you are near immobile, so crouching would still be the best way to get a stealth kill. Next, you should be able to lean-peek. Leaning around a corner can sure save some of your body from bullets, but it will decrease you accuracy somewhat as you are leaning. You should be able to charge your bash, or tap it quickly to create a 3-hit combo. A charge bash can be effective if you know someone is around the corner, but a 3-hit combo can be effective if your in a frantic 1 on 1 firefight at close range. With all the controversy over grenades, they shouldn't be so instant to leave your hand. I dont know anyone who can pull the pin and throw a grenade that quick, then again i dont know very many supersoldiers...but anyways, you should have to wait a few seconds before the grenade actually leaves your fingers, but if you die before the grenade is thrown, it should just drop, getting a lucky kill on someone eager to pick up your weapons. New items should include a 30-second rage (extra damage), 30-second infinite ammo, 30-second quick speed, and of course, overshield and active camoflauge. Nothing too complicated and nothing too cheap. If you happen to get an assassination kill while charging your bash, you should get a different medal entirely. A stealth kill medal should be awarded, you can physically grab the character and mutilate them with your weapon you have. tapping r will quickly dispatch him if another enemy is coming, but you wont get the full stealth kill, but instead, an instant headshot. If you happen to run out of ammo and you find a small enough object such as a rock or a small crate, you should be able to hold it, which you can bash and throw it only, no grenades it is treated as a 2 1/2 handed weapon. If you obtain active camo with the sword, the sword should turn invisible also, after all the sword is all about the ambush and surprise stuff. To work the turret guns, you press L to mount, which significantly increases accuracy, and L to dismount it. Just firing is still powerful, but not quite as much and significantly less accuracy. With the covenant and human rocket launchers, L is for lock on and R is obviosly to fire, and rockets shouldn't be perfectly accurate while running or even standing. Crouching would imrpove accuracy. With human and covenant grenade launchers, L would change the firing type (grenades explode on impact or after bounce)
6. New maps/ map styles
New map styles shouldn't always look like coagulation (containment *cough* *cough*) but instead every map have its own unique style, like one set up like sidewinder, then another set up like terminal, then relic, kinda varied. Big maps like coagulation and containment are so one-sided. Especially coag. There is hardly any cover, and the dudes with the snipers own all, but the new br starts help a tiny. You should make a cool neutral flag/bomb map where the bases are high, and the middle is low, and once you drop down, the trick is getting up all the way to the other team's base. Or vice-versa (bases are low and middle is high). We would like to see more maps like zanzibar so its 1 flag ctf and 1 bomb assault. A big uphill map with the defenders on the high end and offenders on the low end.
THANK YOU BUNGIE AND I HOPE YOU HEAR THIS BIG REQUEST!
