I love Marathon, in your opinion do you think that a sequel will emerge?

Well, picture a beautiful white Stallion, with the words "Marathon 4" written on it, and picture people bludgeoning it with clubs.

It's called Marathon Infinity for a reason. When Bungie gave us Forge and Anvil, they handed the reigns to all of us. If you want "Marathon 4" write, code, and build it yourself vid boi!

I think they better not do one without him.

Well as much as a sequel would rock, I agree with shishka, seropian is the heart and soul of marathon, and we would hate to see a Zombified sequel, devoid of it's humanity.
People have been trying to make an Unreal or Quake (I dont remember) total conversion, however I think that idea kinda disintegrated. We can hope and pray that Halo 2 will have at least half the depth and complexity of the Marathon trilogy without having too many 3rd rate sci-fi books to fill in the gaps (why!!! why did they make so much of Halo's story seprate from the game????). Don't get me wrong, the books were kinda cool, but somewhat contradictory with the rest of the story, and not very well written in MY opinion.

So I wait and pray to the 7's for a legendary experience!

I thought that might be what Wideload was working on, but then they said that it was on the Halo engine but it was going to be different than Halo. I may be posting prematurely, because I'm about to head over and check their progress. But I think Bungie redoing the Marathon series, all of them, on the Halo 2 engine and then putting that out would kill!

Has it been clearly defined what Wideload's pending project (using the halo engine) actually is or is not? (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

No, but it isn't Marathon, Marathon's license is still Bungie's.
