One of the problems I've noted during online play with Halo CE is it's inability to download custom maps you don't have from the host computer and add them to your directory of maps.

That, and some maps are few and far between and downloading each map to play on a server gets to be a hassle.

So, I've been working on a map pack for a while, based off the maps I saw used online, and have created a single Map Pack that contains nearly any map you'll need for online play.

Currently, the map pack is a self executable (exe) RAR archive that is 714 mb big, and when uncompressed, contains 2.3 gigs of custom maps.

For right now, I only have this available for transfer over bittorrent (you can get a client for it here -> http://www.bittorrent.com/).

You can download the torrent file here.

I may have a direct download available soon, as soon as I can upload the file to my webserver.

You do know that http://www.haloimpulse.com has a map pack as well - over 200 maps at like 1.4 Gigs, right? It's old though, so a lot of the newer maps aren't on there...

Yes, and this map pack contains more of the newer maps used today. However, if you want to suggest what maps to add, you can send me an email at thomca@hotpop.com

And BitTorrent is a download client that uses people's bandwidth to send files, not server bandwidth. Basically, it's slow when starting up, but is faster when it gets going.

BTW, BitTorrent is much better, for the people hosting the file and people downloading it. I would go for the torrent file now then wait for the direct download.

Anyway, I'll get a direct link up soon. However, all I have now is torrent, which will be slow at first since I'm the only one seeding. I would suggest anyone using bittorrent for this leave it on and just minimize it, and leave it running.
