Ok, this is not only for taking a screenshot, but for being able to show it on this message board here. I will explain this step by step so no one will get lost in the midst of my explanation.
Here we go.
Step 1: First you will need to be on your desktop. Then you should right click on the Halo shortcut icon and then click Properties. From there you need to click the Shortcut tab on the top of the window (if not there already). You should then see this:
Target type: Application
Target location: Halo
Target: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe"
On the target bar (the one that says: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe"), you should add -Screenshot to the end of it. Then it should look like this:
Target: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe" -Screenshot
After you have finished that, you can press OK at the bottom of the window.
Step 2: When you enter a game Halo, and have the screen set up just how you want it, you press the Print Screen Button. You can find the Print Screen Button on the top right corner of the keyboard (you can take a maximum of 11 screenshots before you overwrite some screenshots). Thus depicted in this picture.
Step 3: Once you have taken all the screenshots you want, you can finish the game, or just quit. You then will need to use ReaJpeg. If you do not have not downloaded this program, you can download it here. NOTE: You will be using the trial version of ReaJpeg, so you do not have the entire thing, but for our purposes, the trial version is all you need.
Step 4: When you open up ReaJpeg, a window will appear saying "THANK YOU FOR TRYING ReaJpeg!" From there you should click the I Agree button on the bottom of the window. Then another window will come up, the program itself. You want to look at the left box on the left side of the window. There should be a list of your Hard drive (i.e. My Computer, Control Panel, My Documents, etc.). You want to click the + that sits next to Local Disk (C:). Then, you want to click the + that sits next to Program Files, and then scroll down until you see Microsoft Games. You should click the + by that, too. Finally, you click the + by Halo, and click the Folder titled "screenshots."
Step 5: Then, on the box that sits to the right of it, a list of screenshots should appear. You then can click on any of the screenshots, and below it, a tiny preview of the screenshot will appear. Once you have chosen the one you want to convert to a .jpeg, you click that specific screenshot, and then click the button next to the Output Folder Address Bar, the button that has three dots. Then another window will pop-up titled "Browse for Folder." You then choose the folder you want the screenshot to go in using the same method as before. When you have chosen the folder you wish to put the screenshot into, you then press OK. Finally, you then click the Convert Selection button that lies on the bottom right hand corner of the program window.
And there you have it, your screenshot is now visible. But if you wish to show it to all your friends on the internet, you will need a place to upload the pictures. Follow the steps below to find out how to:
Step 6: You can upload them here. You will need to register for using it, but it is worth it.
Step 7: Once registered, you need to log on, and pull up your album. You will need to create an album first, so you must type the name of your desired album tin the text box titled "Add Album." Once you typed in the album title, you press Create.
Step 8: You then are able to upload images. To do so, you need to press the Browse... button next to the Add Picture text box. You then will need to find your screenshot, and then press Open. If you wish to keep your picture name, check the box under the Add Picture text box titled "Keep original picture names." If you wish to not keep the names, make sure that box is not checked. Now, you can press Submit that is below the check box, and your screenshot will then be uploaded to the site.
Step 9: If you are on a message board that allows pictures to be put on, then you should click the text box Img and copy the code. Then you can paste that code on to your post on the message board and show it to your forum buddies. If you are on a message board that does not allow pictures on it, then you should click on the Url text box and copy that code. Then you can paste that code on the message board, and set it up as a link for people to go view for themselves.
Well there you have it, a complete step by step explanation on how to take a screenshot. Hope you understood how to do it and I hope the screenshot turned out okay.
