Looking at this pile of -blam!- now...

What did you want in Halo 2 Vista?

It can be something which:
Is Broken (and want fixed).
Is removed.
In other Halo games Halo 1, and Halo 3...
..thanks to the Bungie-tards for announcing H3 features with no inclusion of H2V.

Bungie
The company which decided how crap to make it.

FiredGun
The group which has experience in creating/porting crap games.

Pi Studios
The idiot's who couldn't even make a H2EK better than HEK+.

Other stuff

Buyer's Remorse - An open letter to the devs of H2V

Proof of the Suckiness made to Halo 2 PC

Shock120's mainmenu mod (may the 7ru7h be modded into H2V)

List of what I wanted, others wanted/would want

Gametypes/modes
Campaign Co-op (Online/LAN/Split-screen)
Infection
Forge (retarded, why leave this out, and mention it for Halo 3?)
Theater (did you know this was featured in Halo 1?, and H2X beta?)

Content
Those 2 missing campaign maps, 02a_? and 02b_?...

Flood Juggernaut back in Oracle

Single_player_shared.map to be the one and only map needed for all external stock tags.

H2EK, 100% creativity (AI maps, custom campaigns, scripted events)

Don't -blaming!- remove the Custom map image, wut some1 make pr0n2?

MODS! MODDING! MODIFY! MODDED! MODIFICATION! MODIFIED!

Fixes

No CD Key limit.

Games Browser, is laggy, and does not dynamically update when you highlight a game, The instructional buttons disappear, sometimes you can't even see who the host is.

Gamespy are a great host for game browsers, because M$ really don't let you connect straight away, what are they using dial-up?

Input lag and turning stuttering from mouse.

FPS over 60 is like using cheat engine to put the speed up to 1000%

Engine coded limits, to be removed, this includes objects spawn/respawn limits,
ragdoll limit is disabled if 8 or more players join.

Support 4:3, 16:9 and 16:10 resolutions.

Transparency of objects from a distance, you will certain parts of an object when you shouldn't.

Game needs to be fixed to universally support all (future) versions of GFWL, because the incompatibility is within H2V, and not in GFWL (as many thought), this incompatibility is where the "Join lag" comes from.

More settings, to customize/optimize the gaming experience
Graphical settings

support for extended characters or face the wrath of the 81 E4.

Server/Client sided features

16 Players only, how old is the Halo franchise and
why is it still limited to 16 players?

Console and server commands, I like net_graph from valve.

Server GUI.

Netcode, Halo 3 was made better for sync, between AI, Scripts, Cutscenes, BSP transition between host and players.

Servers should not be bound to CD Keys or GT names, it should be like this, for one GT, this GT can make/host as many Servers as he likes, with any custom name.

Server needs more control over players who join:
CD Key ban, GT ban, PCID ban, IP ban.
change player's/game's features in realtime.
Server to run modifiable or no scripts, like those in L4D.
message board, auto message sender, and other places where the server operator can specify which part of the screen where text may be.

Enable/disable use of controllers, for players who joined your server.

Plugins.

Who the -blam!- wants to see color bars for connection? I want to see actual measurements of our connections in ms.

Custom colors for:
The mainmenu filter, can be blue, red, clear etc..
Player's HUD.

etc.

exactly what they did with the first PC port, a solid game where they fixed some more issues and tweaked the graphics a bit, and the gamespy arcade server list.

also, compatible with windows xp

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

No mouse lag.

What a joke.

H2v is the biggest fail in the history of Bungie, and they are too chicken to even acknowledge it or try to fix it despite their wealth. Shame on you Bungie. You fail.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

A PC game. That's what I would have loved to see in H2V.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

All of the above. Split-screen co-op should have at least been retained. Talk about removing value. Also for some of us, the server browser doesn't work at all, or requires dancing, dinner and a movie.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Here is a fact: they took out a feature in a title update! Seriously, since some moron decided to take a picture of his butt that appeared every time there was a .ass error, they blocked custom map images, as they were afraid someone would stick bad stuff in there.

From kills alone, a h2v map maker:
Its funny, see MS allowed us to do this at first, but then one of their own employees decided it would be funny to include a picture of his butt whenever a .ASS error popped up. They patched this out so that they would not get sued and this also gave the game a higher warning-rating (I believe). So because their own employees cannot control themselves, why would one of their customers? This is their logic. And this is why they removed the preview picture. It really makes little sense as I could fill entire maps with -blam!- and yes they could ban said map, but if so, why not keep it like that for an objectionable preview picture also?

They promise us we'll be able to make our own Halo 2 and then they go about removing everything fun. No preview pix, no collision models, no new vehicles, no new anything, not even many of the pieces described in the help file or in the H2EK mapping preview...they false-advertised basically, they told me I was buying one thing and then they gutted it. Where they so afraid people would actually make something better then the H2 campaign or did they simply run out of space on the DVD? I think it had more to do with them wanting to sell 360s and Halo 3.

I bought the game, so I'm not to blame, its all you suckers that buy hardware that had a 50% failure rate and then pay monthly or yearly to play on a device you already payed for. FPS and RTS on consoles? What is this bizarro world? How many copies of H2V would have had to sell for MS to give us the time of day, I wonder?

Translation: Halo pc is better, and ms fails.

Also, the cd key limit needs to be fixed. And the dedi server needs far more features.

Everything is there (except for some more recent GFWL problems). Hired Gun compiled a database of problems, but the team was broken up. But without any development team left, and with support for the game discontinued, you will never see anything get fixed.

Nothing like a little Halo 2 foreplay.

Funny thing about that. A few weeks ago, Halo 2 somehow de-activated itself on my system and insisted I was out of activations when I tried to re-activate. About a week after said incident, it let me activate again all of a sudden. Weird, huh?

Funny mod. Microsoft bends and breaks the law quite regularly. So, eye for an eye.

Halo is my favourite game of all time, I spent hours on end playing 2 player splitscreen co-op and 4 player splitscreen with my freinds on the Xbox when it first came out.

I've since moved and don't own an Xbox anymore, I currently have a gaming PC (2x Nvidia GTX480's Sli) with 4x USB Xbox 360 controllers and a PS3 on a 42" TV.

I hear Halo 2 is out on the PC so I check to see what splitscreen support is availble and geuss what they've disabled splitscreen on the PC?! The only thing I liked about the game and the developers thought it would be a good idea to take it out?!

It realy does makes me wonder what goes through their minds when they're developing games to be re-released on the PC. I know what would be a good idea, lets take everything out that makes the game viable and worth playing I'm sure that will attract lots of buyers! The developers have absolutley no idea, fact.

I haven't purchased Halo 2 on the PC yet as the only part of the game I would be interested in using is splitscreen to play with freinds.

I'm sorry to rant, I'm greatful for the developers for making the game but it needs to be said because they've taken something good and torn it apart.

Does anyone here know where I could download a MOD or a way to edit the game to enable splitscreen with Halo 2 PC (with Xbox360 controller support)? I would be extremly greatful and would gladly pass this on to other Halo 2 fans around the globe. This is something which needs to be accomplished with or with-out support from the developers.

All the code for split-screen was probably totally removed, instead of just lying dormant. MS is pretty good at restricting people. Too bad. Split-screen co-op was really fun on Xbox.

Here's what split-screen is like
apparently, the screens do not go to the other players, but instead it renders the world 4 times.

All players were controlled by one controller.

I could even hear the sound which the other local players were hearing, as though it was really Xbox splitscreen.

I'll never understand why its so "taboo" for splitscreen to be in PC games. Its not like PCs can't handle it. Its not like people can't hook up to their big screen TVs. There's really no reason not to include splitscreen other than the extra coding it would take (which wouldn't be much)... but Fired Gun already had it done for them! No doubt it was Microsoft who told them not to bother porting the splitscreen code properly.

What would it have taken? Really they just had to resize the player's viewports and the black bars separating them. Everything else was done for them with the leftover Xbox code. This would've been a 2 hour job. Would've been nice to have in Halo PC as well. Oh well... for some reason its against the rules to have splitscreen in PC games; I'll never understand why.

At least Valve isn't afraid to include it.

It's against the rules to have Online co-op too,
it's against the rules to release source code of any Halo game.

Now that eyefinity is out, there is more reason for PC splitscreen gaming, each gamer can use each screen (out of 3).

There's even more left over code, I tried to look for the co-op mode.

I also found the Bungie.net user role (I was the 1st), and went around claiming I was Bungie. for extreme lulz.

There's so much unused code, and it all got ported over,
how -blaming!- retarded are FiredGun?

Valve is a company who actually support their games, and now they have the workforce to support Xbox360, PC and Mac, and having to support DX9mod (w/e 360's using), DX and OpenGL.
