H2 on pc? Nah H2 is already ownage on Xbox Live. And if H1 was on Live, you all know you would be friggin playing it on the XBOX instead of the laggy PC version.

Very good little boy. You run along back to your own forum unless you'll be sent to retard city.

i think they will probley never make halo 2 for PC

But a better question is, will they make halo 3 for PC?

I have a better question here, why not make Star Wars 5 before making Star Wars 1. Seriously, please use your brain for once.

(oh god people are going to hate me for this...) bear is partially right. not completely but he did get some of the point. as long as bungie and m$ are making any profit from xbox live halo 2 pc will not come.(been said already right? wrong.) when halo 3 comes out, sale prices for h2 will go down drasticly. this means that maybe, just maybe h2pc will come out earlier than most of us expect. which brings me to another thing. people have been saying that h2ce is better than the xbox version. my god how wrong you are. halo2 for the xbox has infinitely better graphics than the ce versions ever will. so taking these things into consideration, my final answer would be that i would most likely pay for a xlive style service for h2pc. it is part of the exerience and most likely, most if not all of the people who buy it will go for this premium as welll

When he's right, he's right, even if you don't want him to be. I've turned everything up on my PC, but the H2 graphics just don't have the detail and polish it Xbox counterpart have. but, what're you goanna do? You're running Halo 2 on a Halo 1 mod; thngs are going to get missed. As for play, I'll take HCE over Xbox anything. I don't like the controller. i don't like using my television (compared to PC games, anything on a television looks..."washed out".

So I think H2PC is a good idea. And as long as they make it worth the money, I think an XBL like service could be too.

I like this "premium" approach that the thread is taking. That's a good way to look at it, and I hope $soft and Bungie take the idea and run with it when they finally port H2PC. Keep it up folks.

i don't have a rebuttle (forgive spelling) for the H1 lag comment, so i'll leave that alone. However, XBL isn't as available as plain old internet service (ISP conflict). Regular internet (as in, not XBL) is all you need for PC gaming. So, when (if) Halo 2 comes to PC, theoretically, there can be more people playing online pc than xbox. Xbox is aging, and PC's are already stomping all over it's performance, so H2PC could lag less than H2Xbox.

What everyone seems to be forgetting about here, is time. It took Bungie more than a year to work on the storyline for Halo 1, than another year to complete Halo 1 and to release it with the Xbox on November 15th in 2001. Than in mid-summer of 2002, Bungie started showing off some Halo 2 work X02 in New York. Than within another year, Halo 2 gameplay is shown at E3.

Than, finally, Halo 1 is ported to PC in September of 2003. It took two years to do that. It took an overall of three years for them to complete Halo 2.

Now, Bungie is trying to complete Halo 3 for a new system thats hardware capability is unknown. And all in time for the release of PS3 in spring of next year.

My point? When Halo 2 is, if ever, released for PC, it won't be untill at least after the release of PS3 and Halo 3. Then, you should still give it another six months for Bungie to tweak and improve the online experience of Halo 3. Bungie is very busy right now and isn't going to bother with Halo 2 PC when Halo 2 Xbox is still making money.

Dont get your hopes up because H2 is probaly never gonna come out for PC. They just arent interested in that topic right now the Staff of Bungie aren't focusing on that right now. The main reason i think PC users want Halo 2 for the PC is because they dont want to pay 130 bucks for an Xbox to play the game. But they dont recognize the very expensive cost of upgrading there PC to be able to play it. So it does come in the future. But what are you gonna do about it then unless you have a topnotch computer with a great video card you are going to be handing over hundreds of dollars to get a new computor with a new processor. And then there is another hundred dollars or more to get a very good graphics card. When you compare the two the you will be paying 500 dollars plus to be able to have the pretty graphics on the Xbox and you will only need to pay rufly around 200 dollars more or less to get an XBox and Halo 2. I dont know about you but i think i want to save a couple hundred dollars. So think about that before you start getting your hopes up.

wats the point of gettin an x-box for just halo 2? even if it costs u a little more to upgrade, it will be better in the long run cuz u can do a lot more on a computer than just playing games. Some of us actually use their computers for work, not just for play.

Ok, this time I’m in the bad mood. You want to talk savings? Fine let’s see how much people will really save if they bought the Xbox today.

Console $130. (Don’t forget the game; that another $40. XBL $50. A year.

But wait there’s more: lets go for the whole hog; and be honest with ourselves.

If you’re going back to consoles today you gotta get the Xbox 360, which is due out next year and will rapidly replace Xbox 1 for games people want to buy for their console (including H3), tomorrow. That’ll be another $300 please for the barebones console. But what fun is that??? Lets grab the hard drive for $100, and a couple of wireless controllers for (and I’m being very generous here) $20 a piece.

So…switching back to consoles today would cost us…$610. Wow! Look at all the money we’ve saved! Yippee!

Finally, if you choose to say, “Well just buy the Xbox and Halo 2 and don’t waste money on anything else”? I have a very simple rebuttal for that:

$220 for one stupid game! I don't care how good it is, you've gotta be the (rest of post edited for shear viciousness)

You people have become spoiled-rotten by using the online system for HPC. You expect there to be servers for you to play, yet how many of you actually have a server that you run? How many of you give back? How many of you could play if tomorrow all the public servers shut down?

On the contrary, I ALWAYS run servers and join in whenever someone decides to join. I haven't used the serverlist in ages now.

Yo people,

Who ever said, " Na, Halo 2 ain't coming on PC, but Halo 3 will" , just leave this forum, thats one of the most rediculous things ive ever heard, and to be honest, its really rediculous. Also you lot, if you don't think that Halo 2 ain't coming on PC, just bloody get an xbox, 'cos i know with my commen sense that it will be out for PC, seriously, just wait and see, like i said, Halo 2 on PC, hasn't been said "NO" to yet.

Spartan 19283746, you got it so wrong.

For a start, many pc people dont like consoles *because they are consoles*.

No keyboard and mouse.

No choice of servers online.

No free internet play.

Lower graphics.

Add to that, I througly disagree with buying a console merely to follow a game I like.

I dont like consoles, its that simple. Same for many other PC users. Not saying they are crap, just that I dont like them.

how true. i left my PS2 to gather dust a long time ago because it was -blam!- compared to gamecube. ever since i got halo pc, i haven't even touched my gamecube. don't take this message as "nintendo sucks ass"; i think they are way better than sony.

I think Nintendo is probably the best company, because they actually care about the gamers. They don't overprice everything and make you buy extra stuff. There just a little behind in the times with no online play, no DVD player, and not that good of a game line up. Personally, I would love to see Nintendo's next console, whatever it may be, kick sony's PS3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360's asses. They're releasing their next generation system last(next to Sony and Microsoft) so they have somewhat of an advantage in the technology department. But everyone would have bought a PS3 or 360 by than so not a lot of people would by it.

$soft is going to integrate xbox live on pc with windows vista. By the way, the only pc games that i would pay 2 play are MMOs, and halo 2 isn't one so i wouldn't pay.

first of all....xboxes arent 130 bucks. they're 150 but whatever. anyways, PCs are not just for gaming, nor are they just for ONE game like xbox. xbox has halo 2....thats it. oh and halo 1...but its better on pc anyways. and a topnotch computer? uh dude halo 2's graphics are not that great. as long as its ported well and the graphics drivers are actually finished completely (unlike H1PC) then you'll be able to run halo 2 nicely on a 40 dollar graphics card (nvidia geforce fx 5200). oh and this one kills me....200 dollars or less? hah! 150 for the box, 40 to 50 for the game, 70 for xb live (live and headset), and if you're impatient and want the new mappack now, 12 more bucks. yea more like between 250 to 300. and guess what? all you can do on an xbox is play halo 2 and listen to music now. wow my PC can do...so so much more...

and btw i gave in and got an xbox and halo 2 and live. *cry* i'm sorry i've betrayed you all...lol. but even still. if halo 2 came out on pc, i would buy it, get rid of xblive and never touch my xbox again.

And once again, we come back full circle to kicking a dead horse. "Will there be an H2PC?" "Xbox totally suxxorz!" Sigh... lets get the thread back on track...

No. I would definitely NOT pay for a game to play online. This is the only reason I do not own WoW (I'm a rabid fan of Blizzard games as well :D ), one of the best MMORPG's ever. Why? I ALREADY PAID for your game in stores. There is NO way I am paying to play it online (or in WoW's case, just play it).

Yes, You3t - but you pay the folks who made WoW to play on their servers. They have to pay for those servers and be able to feed their families.

Noted Inspire, but if the game isn't good enough (not as good as Starcraft or Diablo 2) to support itself and it's servers, along with the creators, why did I buy it in the first place?
