Can anyone tell me if I can buy Halo 2 for Mac? I know you can with Halo 1, but the only Halo 2s I can find are for windows.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

It's only out for Windows, sorry. :(

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

I was about to post something about how you should buy a PC if you wanna play PC games, but then I remembered that H2V isn't really much of a PC game.

The reason why it wasn't released for Mac, is because FiredGun had no knowledge of OpenGL, but look at the mess they made of DX9, we have transparent-opaqe objects, graphics hog etc.

Well, Portal is out for Mac now! Does this count?

that counts as Valve being moar awesome than Microsuckers.

I guess they still haven't completed their l4d and half life games.

Still working on those, I guess. What ticks me is, still no OpenGL for Windows versions of HL2, TF2, L4D, etc. Would be much easier running on Wine with that option.

It's much better running it natively for the OS.

I know, but, Wine's at the point where I can run HL2 acceptably, and almost any OpenGL game I've thrown at it has run almost flawlessly... I am dying to get away from Microshaft. :|

lol Microshaft. xD

I find it funny, I think Microsuck is probably taking Valve on Mac as a threat.

Fable III confirmed for PC and Xbox 360. wow.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent, confirmed for Mac, Windows, and GNU+Linux!!

Oh wait, nobody even knows what that is. :(

I hate to admit I've never played a Fable game.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

I know fable is for PC. I havent played it, but it seems like just another western rpg. Fable 2 wasn't on PC, so it is odd fable 3 would be on PC.

Though, halo 3 could be on pc because of that.

And speaking of linux, RAGE is going to be on PC, mac, and Linux.

about Halo 1 for Mac

my cousin got it, graphics seemed a bit better, but online he could only find a limited amount of dedicated servers and almost no user created games.

so, Halo 1 PC/Mac are not cross-platform compatible?

Let there be CHAOS!

I don't believe they are, no. Completely separate teams worked on them and I don't think there was much intercommunication aside from the broad design of things.

I think they used to be able to use the same servers. But sawnose cranked out so many patches, I don't think the Mac version caught up. Check this page out:

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/games/demos_updates/hal ocombatevolved.html

See the line talking about Halo PC version 1.07. I have also seen servers while playing Halo PC that claim to be for Mac users.

There is a patch for it to work with 1.09, but you need the universal binary update first:

Halo mac is expensive though.

it's iffy at best; I've played against people on mac, who've joined my server and I theirs; however most of the time the stars just aren't aligned for finding each other.
