Is it just me or is some of the details for graphics, light effects, and coloration a bit better than Halo 3 in terms of more realism in shading and colors?

If you look at master chief on Halo 2 (with perfect quality picture of course) it seems to me that Halo 2 held a somewhat more realistic graphics versus Halo 3 where it's all skittles and rainbows.

Yup, Bungie went the cartoon route. When people say the graphics are so much better in H3 I laugh. Like you say, skittles and rainbows.

The technologies are better in Halo 3... the application is somewhat questionable. Although when you look at some human/natural environments and then observe the lighting effects, it looks really nice.

One major thing about Reach ODST and Halo 3 is the fact that a lot of times I find myself not able to see over the bright bloomin graphics and often get killed because of the fact that the environment is to god damn bright or the sun is -blam!- brighter than a plasma grenade that and the fact that it doesn't help when team colors blend too god damn well into the environment it's so disadvantageous and it's a major blow to my ability to play the game.
