A lot of people want an "online member feature." Well, what if we could make a friends list just for your frieds on bnet? I know people with linked gamertags can see their XBL friends that are on. We should make one just for bnet though. I think that's really the only way you could have a "online member feature."

What do you think?

EDIT: Sorry if someones already though of this.

I've seen this on other Forums. I guess it would be useful, but usually people get their Bnet friends' IM names.

I suppose that's true for most people. I would just like to keep my contacts for messenger filled with my regular friends that I have actually met. Maybe that's just me though.

I would rather have the bnet online friends feature because i have too many people on my IM as it is and i dont want to be made to avoid more people by giving them my IM.

Psyched is right. If people really were your friends you'd have them on your IM.

I was thinking it'd be a good idea for the Mods, so people would know who is online. Although, then the spammers would know if they were online or not. Kind of like a double edged sword.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

Or a double bladed lightsaber! Or a biped! Or twins! Or a twice baked potato!

That would be a good idea, but I honestly don't think that 'ol faithful here could take something on that scale. Think about it- assuming that only half the memebrs here actually use their accounts, thats over half a million Friends lists. That's pretty big. The only way I can see that working is if there was a seperate app. made, like AIM. It would use your Bungie.net name as your screenname. Mabye it could be done by a group of computer-wise members! I bet that would be enough to earn them they're own title and avatar.

Well, XBL does it, while constantly running thousands of games at once. I think it could be pulled off. And the separate app also makes sense.

... but does Xbox Live use Bungie's servers? That's like me saying that a grenade won't destroy everything in New York, then you say "Well a nuke can it!"

How so? And if XBL does use Bungie's servers, then the servers are definitely powerful enough.

Xbox live does NOT use Bungies servers. I don't know why you think they do. Xbox Live and Bungie are two seperate entities. Halo 2 can go on Xbox live, but Bungie is not integrated with Xbox Live.

EDIT: Misread your post. Didn't see the "if" there.
