Heyy guys, I love Halo 1 and 2 on xbox and want to get them on PC, as i'd love to play online multiplayer on the Halo 1 maps and I loved Halo 2's MP and was very sad to see it die on xbox. But I have a few questions:

1.My main question is, do people still play them both online ?
2.Do the games run on dedicated servers or is it a Matchmaking setup like Halo 2 for Xbox ?
3.Can you use the Xbox 360 windows controller for the games, i'm assuming you can for Halo 2 but don't know about 1 ?
4.I know you can play Halo 2 PC using your xbl gamertag, but can you use your xbl gamertag on Halo 1 for PC,and if not do you create an online profile in game or something else ?
5.Are there acheivements in Halo 2 PC like there are on 360 games, and if so can I view them on my gamercard on xbox 360?

Sorry about there being so many questions, but it would be greatly appreciated if you could answer all of them or even just some, or even one :P

Thanks, Jebus1664

Let there be CHAOS!

1.My main question is, do people still play them both online ?
Yes, both are still played online, but Halo 2 has a very small population.

2.Do the games run on dedicated servers or is it a Matchmaking setup like Halo 2 for Xbox ?
There is no matchmaking, only dedicated and user-created servers.

3.Can you use the Xbox 360 windows controller for the games, i'm assuming you can for Halo 2 but don't know about 1 ?
The 360 controller works flawlessy with Halo 2, but with Halo 1 there is no sticky-aiming and when playing online, your movement is not analogue (You can't walk).

4.I know you can play Halo 2 PC using your xbl gamertag, but can you use your xbl gamertag on Halo 1 for PC,and if not do you create an online profile in game or something else ?
Halo 1 is not attached to Live in any way, shape or form. You don't need to create any account in Halo PC; you will get a prompt when you first run it to type in the nickname you want and that is all.

5.Are there acheivements in Halo 2 PC like there are on 360 games, and if so can I view them on my gamercard on xbox 360?
Yes and yes.

I think I have a great solution for you. If your not intrerested in the campaign and just want some fun multiplayer i suggest you download the free demo of halo CE for pc/mac. it comes with 1 campaign level and a pretty fun multiplayer. Only problem is that it only has bllod gulch(unless you join a modded server). Oh, and yes there are plenty of people online. Its a fun game if your bored, and yes it is FREE. Have fun online my username is Nick/ Nick 2
