I've been playing Halo PC with the wired Xbox 360 controller. I've installed all the drivers and set up all the controls, however I'm having issues with the sensitivity of the left thumbstick.

I'll be pushing forward, but then suddenly strafe sideways and all over the place as it's only picking up on the up/down/left/right and nothing in between.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

There's a controller config option in Control Panel > Game Controllers.

Yeah, it's configurated fine, but in the game it doesn't transition smoothly between the directions.

Pioneer and Enthusiast for Halo 3.

I've had the same problem ever since I got my controller as well. I realized that the 360 controller is not something that you should be using for PC, the hard way. What I did, was get a USB regular PC controller. It worked great for me.

windows callabration sucks but heres a program i use to elminate the calabration errors.xpadder
xpadder can also be used for other games as it emulates a the key bord. for your aiming stick id stick with the game controls because it slow to use mouse move ment and you will need to change mouse sensitivity. if you are running windows 7 the programe will have to run in compatabilty mode as the free version dose not support windows 7. mw2 will ban you for useing it in mp. the programe also features turbo settings.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

To answer the OP's question correctly, as none of you have managed to do so far: Halo PC's movement controls are entirely digital, so there's no way you can make movement feel like the Xbox version of the game. You can't slow your speed, and you can't travel in anything other than the eight directions possible on a d-pad.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

That.

The game's movements are essentially "on or off." There is no variation in speeds of movement.

Well that sucks... :/

Is it possible to make the controller only pick up on the four main directions of movement?
