All the mods hail from the USA except for goweb (England) and Reiginko (Australia). goweb is on his way to the USA soon anyway.

With the amount of time you put in Psyched, maybe you should be listed as possibly becoming a Mod.

Psyched, where do you get all of this Bungie information and stuff? Youre probably one of the most knowledgable people on the forums.

Can Mods be elected by normal forum members? Or if there is enough support from the community would the Bungie.net master pay attention?

Mein gott I hope not! I shudder to think what horrors democracy would bring to this place.

The only person I've seen that might compete with Psyched is Ghandi 2. Maybe there should be some sort of test you can take about your knowedge of bnet. That would be cool.

And Sir Fragulas right. This is nooooo place for democracy.

Psyched as a mod? Hahahaha, I know someone who would turn in their grave. I don't think we need more mods though, just more people to report threads to them.

If you think Norway is hell, you've obviously never heard of a little place called France(aka The Land of Hairy Armpits).

No. Moderators are chosen by the Overlord and Community Guy, current moderators input their information on who should become one.. when we actually need one.

I want to point out that this statement isn't entirely true, but for the purpose of this thread it'll do fine.

In my opinion, Psyched, Toast, and a couple of others should all be Moderators. I know they'd love it as they're on here everyday, and (10-ish) guys can not look after forums as popular and as viewed/used as these. And it shows; the state of Zanzibar for instance. This is a game developers web site. And yes, Halo 2 is the best/most popular game of the last 5 years but it's quite embarrasing to see the state of this place sometimes. I mean the amount of threads slating Halo 2 as the worst game ever etc, on the developers very own website! Also, the amount of dumb threads. What does this say overall about this here 'community' ? People never seem to read the rules (even I haven't, but I have common sense) so that is an issue which needs to be addressed. But I'm all for more Mods, even if Bungie themselves are not. If I was on these forums more, I won't lie, I'd love to be one. But I'm not. I'm on Live in my spare time, and I'm only after a custom avatar really! And more to the point, there are people on here who A) have been here a long time and are known, and B) deserve it as they are sensible, fun and friendly.

So what I'm saying is wake up web-team/big arsed men. Stop revelling in the 'fame and glory' of your member titles and get this place looking and feeling more like it did before the huge onslaught began last year. It's hard, but more moderators would do a great deal of benefit to the community and would be a great start.

I only know of about a few guys who I would say deserve and could handle a mod position. Ghandi 2, Psyched, and Sir Fragula.

I'll admit I couldn't handle a mod position. Mainly because I haven't been on the forums long enough to know all of the rules.(although I know most). And I don't want to have to click on links to stuff to see if I had to block it. I don't wan to look at the pr0n. I'm sure every mod has clicked a link to it and had to block it.

I really do think the mods do a great job, though maybe one or two more might be helpful(psyched gets my vote, since I've seen him as being the most helpful since I returned to the column). Personally I wouldn't want to be a mod here. Just because theres memebrs questioning your bans and locking of threads all the time, hate and mail and that such. Also theres a lot of time you have to put into the forums, and I would just not be able to take the stupidity I see in them. I'm a mod at Halobabies.net and when things get busy it can be tuff getting on enough there to take care of things. Now think, b.net is probably hundreds maybe even thousands of times more active, so that would just give me a huge headache. But in my eyes, the current mods are doing a fine job, and we can't just elect a ton of mods, other wise things get sloppy.

It's pretty simple. We form friendships with other people on b.net. Get to know them a little bit. It's not as complex as you think. There isn't like a hidden place where all this information is gathered. You just simply know because you are on this website everyday.

More specifically, Chris if from North Carolina, Goweb is from the UK, Maka lives in Washington, Nos lives in Pennsylvania, Recon lives in Florida, and last and not least, Reiginko lives in Australia.

As for stosh I'm pretty sure he lives in North Carolina as well. No idea where Sigma lives, and Shishka lives somewhere within the twisting nether.

A few of our mods were actually bred here inside Bungie Studios in a petri dish in our testing lab. Not content with mere mortals from the community, we resorted to building a moderator based on the ideal spec. Unfortunately some genes from the Webmaster were used in the cloning process and all of our "children" have since succumbed to the horrors of alcohol and Tijuana Mamas....A fate I wouldn't wish on my worst enemies.
