Seriously, I loved it!

The story definitely felt epic as it should have, unlike CEs (awesome but it felt like I was out in the middle of nowhere doing something nobody would ever know or care about) and 3's sucked ass.

But what I want to talk about the most are the enemies. In comparison to Halo CE or 3's, Halo 2 had the most variety. The expansion of rank plus duel wielding and more weapons resulted in more unique encounters. They also looked amazing! The counsiler, honor guard, HERETIC! HERETIC! HERETIC! (both the elite, and grunt), Arbiter, Ranger, Stealth, Jackle Sniper, Specter, Tartarus, Decent Brutes, Regret, Regret, Regret (Catchy. Any idea what it means? ...)Drones boarding my Ghost (it happened!) and Ultra were far more unique than the bland health boost that differentiated most enemies in Halo 3, the colors weren't very distinguishing either. So who's with me that Halo 2 had the best enemies?

This is the average H2 Fanboy.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

The ending was hated.

That's it? I thought that there was more to it than just that. I actually liked that too!

Pioneer and Enthusiast for Halo 3.

The campaign prepared an amazing table. It never gets old going through the missions one by one just by myself, and especially with my friends. Some of my friends on the XBL service dislike it. Most really liked it. I have no idea why people hated it. Personally, it was better than CE's.

I liked most of it, but the ending was a little bit anti-climactic. Bungie swang and missed on the cliffhanger.

Halo Ce was oki, Halo 3 Suck Ass (SP not MP), but halo 2 had the best single player:), ending was good, left space for the third game.

P.S. The Scarab gun in halo 2 plus the soccer easter egg (and many others) is something i live about the game :)

i think all the halo games had near perfect campaign mode

Halo 2 was the best Halo game
A7x FoREVer!

I think people weren't to happy about playing as the Arbiter for half the game. Also it didn't help that most sequels never top the original in most people's minds. I personally loved Halo 2 and thought it was the best game in the series. (The multiplayer at least)

Because it was not what was shown off at E3 2003. People just didn't get what they expected and it pissed them off.

Personally, I think Halo 2 had the strongest campaing yet.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

Halo 2 had us really going in the end, then bam a cliff hanger. That was the hated part. Halo 2 legendary I can understand people hating. Without the plasma pistol helping you, you were screwed over. Elite Ultras put many in their place, and made many their -blam!-es.

Compared to Halo Combat Evolved and Halo 3's campaign "including ODST", Halo 2 had the richest and best campaign yet. It shocked and awed us many times, and deeply moved us in some scenes or saddened us in other scenes.

Even though I haven't play Halo 3 yet (though I see videos), I found Halo 2 having some charm that the third didn't. Although, kinda disappointed with the game ends with the Arbiter (;p), I found it to be more....more....Ok I can't describe it. And I found a lot of new things everytime I play!

I thought it was amazing. It made a worthy successor to Halo 1.

I still play Campaign once in a while. At one time I played so much I forgot about the rest of my life. Lately I've also been playing Max Payne and Splinter Cell CT, just for old times sake.

Halo 2 I thought was a stand alone game that stood out from the others.

The Ending, was dumb.
Not enough missions on Earth.
No online co-op.

Yes, yes I am xD

I've only played Halo 2 for a year and still do!!

Bungie never planned the cliffhanger, they basically ran out of time. developing halo 2 literally nearly killed the bungie employees at the time (to the point where if you ask them about it they will shudder and say We Dont Talk About Developing Halo 2), they were under so much pressure and they all learned alot about the development process and did not repeat the same mistakes with halo 3. I personally felt the halo 2 campaign was great, but the ending did stick out like a sore thumb. It would have been ok maybe if there had just been a small epilogue level showing how the chief fought his way thru the keyship to ride that hatch down to earth, blending into the start of halo 3, rather than 'Sir, finishing this fight' and making me think 'fk yeah its on now Truth' and then getting LOLCREDITS.

I have no Reason to hate it but Graphics are just thrown in the back of the Bungie Studios Trash can Halo:3 and Reach are here.

A early Halo fan, since 2006, videogames lover and a creative and fun person.

The 2 previous misions Spartan/Arbiter of the 2 final misions Spartan/Arbiter are horribles, this is the only part of the halo 2 campaing that i hate.

Better graphics =! superior gameplay. My case and point is Halo 3.

I think the biggest reason for the complaints about Halo 2's campaign was the cliffhanger ending. Halo 3 was really supposed to the "part 2" of Halo 2. They always intended to make a trilogy, yes, but the first segments of Halo 3's campaign were intended to be the end parts of Halo 2. What ended up happening was a rage-inducing cliffhanger that wouldn't be resolved for three years.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

I hated the ending, the Campaign was amazing otherwise, Arbiter is a Legend.

  • 05.28.2010 3:43 AM PDT

Damn you 353 guilty spark! You killed the greatest stereotypical african american gun toting sergeant ever to tread upon a fictional futuristic setting!

It wasn't the campaign itself. It was it's ending. Honestly Halo 2 felt more like a bridge between CE and 3 over a standalone game. It just connected the two.

ME2 was known for stupidity and being retarded

You're getting mixed up with Halo 3. Halo 2's campaign was -blam!-ing awesome and I think it was the best game campaign (almost) ever. The ending is what everyone hated.
