I've managed to successfully install Halo PC on my other XP machine, but not my new one. On my new one, I've managed to install only the Halo PC demo. Both the demo installer and the normal installer only detected ~40 gigs of my 160 gig HD (I don't know if this was also the case on the other XP machine). The setup stops at GSArcade.exe, an .msi file (I forgot to write down the name, but it's about tenth in the sequence), and sound.map. At GSArcade and the .msi, it simply says there's been a problem copying it over and hitting "ignore" lets the installation continue (obviously without copying over the file). When it gets to sound.map, though, it says that there's been a problem with my HD and there's no ignore option. Hitting retry produces the same result again. What's wrong?

RE: your Hdd registering as only a 40GB, are you sure you have it formatted and partitioned correctly? Does it register something close to 160GB through My Computer when you click on the drive?

RE: the instalation trouble. If it's simply having problems copying from the CD, try copying the entire contents of the CD to a folder on your desktop and install from there. I've had weird problems like that before with other install discs. It's both frustrating and mysterious (to me, anyway). :)

LOL, I appreciate the sentiment, LML. Not sure if it's true or not, but we'll leave it at that. ;)

Copying them over, I get:

"Cannot copy GSArcade: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)."

I'm thinking this may mean something's wrong with the CD. Is that right?
