With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.
The thing about System Shock that its all panic. You never have any time to rest, since monsters will respawn, no matter how many you kill. Therefore, you'll never have the right amount of ammo to efficiently deal with every situation. In most games, you can stock up on a certain type of ammo, and blast the -blam!- out of everything you see. But in this game, you can do that for about 5 minutes, tops. All enemies die, then the next thing you know, <WHACK>, and a zombie respawns behind you, and hits you over the head with a damned pipe wrench. Its very silent, too, so the sudden <WHACKS> that you don't expect will jolt you out of your seat.
The cutscene between the first and second "levels" is what made me make the final desicion to say "-blam!- this -blam!-," and stop playing. I can't remember exactly what it was, but I do know that I didn't like it one bit. It was something where the camera was zooming around some alien organic construct, and monsters were lurking around the place. It had a very creepy insane-AI voice-over, as well.
That, and psionic monkeys with superbrains.... Who wouldn't be scared at that?
