Yozeel told me to post my comment or suggestion here. Hopefully it will do some good. The topic is about the Zanzibar Forum and measure that I think would greatly improvethe conversations in the forum.

Okay, I personally love being able to come onto bungie.net and have a conversation about halo 2. But when I see people posting comments about the mods and such, like the most recent person...I am sure you have seen the most recently banned poster going everywhere he can posting, certain things that have no relation to the topic at hand. Bungie I work 12 hours a day at a call center and look to waste every minute of it on these forums. I like being able to talk about problems I have had in games and look to the mods or my fellow gamers for help. I think a new system needs to be implemented on bungie.net. It would be great idea for bungie to implement a restriction of some sort. I think in order to participate in at least the Zanzibar forum, since it is supposed to be the forum for matchmaking and multiplayer discussion, you have to have your Gamertag linked to your bungie.net login to participate in the Zanzibar forum. If they act up suspend them or ban them for a day or two for thier foul mouth. I bet anything the forums around Zanzibar would improve both the qualtiy of conversation and help get rid of people who just wanna come on to this forum and bash anything and everything they can.

Zanzibar is for Halo 2 Multiplayer, not just Halo 2 Xbox Live. I don't have Xbox Live but I should still be able to discuss multiplayer topics if I want to. Of course, I don't go into Zanzibar to discuss multiplayer topics, but I should have the ability.

Yes I understand that. However have you ever entered the realm we call Zanzibar..Its horrible. I understand your point fully but if you were to actually try to engage in some sort of conversation over there its impossible. Not everyone but alot of people just flame, bash, and all around ruin every post someone tries to make on there. Now you say you should have the right to go into Zanzibar at anytime. Which you are 100% right. My suggestion isn't perfect I know that, but someting has to be done.

Insecure, are you suggesting that one of the primary offenses would be banning them a day or two from xbox live, or a day or two from Bungie.net.

We can already blacklist people.

Truthfully InsecureT, I never go to Zanzibar, but I hear horror stories. The problem is, you assume it will be better if the forum were restricted to those who have Xbox Live, but I've heard plenty of horror stories about jerks on Xbox Live also. Do you think this jerks on Xbox Live will somehow act more mature once they hit Bungie.net? I doubt it.

No, I am referring Bungie.net. Just the forums for Zanzibar. I dont expect them to act any better once they hit bungie.net, but they will at least know that thier attitude and way they talk to thier fellow gamers will have reprocussions. If not on live, then somewhere that it is mandatory for them to abide by a Code Of Conduct and make them stick to it or else they get banned from live. In essence its sorta of a window to see how they act on live too. I mean If they are coming to the Bungie forums and just want to piss people off and say vulgar rascist things, then they are doing it on live as well.

Zanzibar is a wild place where the trolls roam free and only the bravest mod enters. There are a few decent explorers that who try to restrain the locals from flame wars but it never does any good and the main topic of discussion is usually about Americans being fat or English people having bad teeth. Zanzibar is proof that there should be a report thread button.

I get what you mean, but how will that help? People will just not post if they start getting banned for critisism they have.

No,No,No. Im not talking about banning people for having an opinion, thats just not right. What I am saying is when people cross the line. They start flaming to the point where you get off topic. They start flaming the poster of a comment to the point where they are just bashing this kid for no reason. No intellgent wording at all, not that its needed in a forum, but they were going off on this kid for basically having an opinion about the game itself. I understand that diversity makes a forum, if everyone agreed with everyone else, it would be a boring place. Im talking about the bumpers, the people who will bash on the mods, start idotic threads that are full of racist comments. Those are the people I think should be banned. From bungie.net and live as well, thats why I say link the gamertag to the bungie.net that way if you see they are being vulgar and racist on bungie.net you can go ahead and ban them on live as well. If they do it bungie, than they doing it on live. I know it wont clear ut the mojority of bad players on live but its a start.
