Ive been playing halo a long time, my prime was in halo 2. Good ole lan parties after school, and working just barely enough to get pizza every weekend. Gathering huge numbers of people in the basement, 15.. 20 people all playing halo eating pizza and having a blast.

I miss those days, unfortunately im out of school now. I have a full time job and a daughter. I cant get 20 people at my house anymore. Everyones working and has a life now, so how am i to recall the good ole halo days?

Well with support for original xbox games going off-line, its worse now.

So how can we make a huge comeback? How can we bring back halo for what it was originally? Maybe gather an even bigger fanbase while at it?

Release halo 1 for pc for FREE. I know i know.... You want world domination.. you want everyone bowing at you. Right? Well wouldnt this just further your world domination plan?

Youd have more people here on bungie.net. Getting more news of the up-coming bungie games. Then upon seeing them they go and buy them. Even if they didnt, they would tell thier friends of the halo 1 free release, which of course leads to more people. Then more sales.

Rockstar released thier classics to the public for free, which was amazing cause i loved those games also.

Anyways, when it comes down to it.. im asking... no, begging, you bungie.. Please, PLEASE, would you release halo 1 for free for PC?

Bungie doesn't care about the PC versions of Halo, which they never developed
(H1PC by Gearbox, H2V by FiredGun/Microsoft)
It is best to talk to Microsoft about this matter.

Microsoft believes in keeping Halo closed source, even though Halo 1 PC is overdue.

This is the average H2 Fanboy.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Bungie does care more about halo 1 then 2 though. They released 1.09.

Of course, they aren't going to make it free, though. It still sells for PC and Xbox.

And this is how much ms cares about people on their forums, posted by "GFWModerator".

I don't know how many more ways (or times) I can say - first of all you have a keyboard. Second of all, if this were to happen, I and these forums would have absolutely nothing to do with it. I don't know who would, I have no involvement or relationship with the people who do, there's nothing I can do to help you.

Basically nothing really happens on the gfwl forums. This was in reply for someone who wanted the 360 chatpad on pc.

Of course, they CAN release it free, they released the mechcommander 2 source and made mechwarrior 4 freeware.

It'd create havok with ban lists, but hey, may as well just release the thing for free and bolster the community.

Mind you, it's probably still bringing money in, albeit a tiny amount I'm sure.

This is the reason there are still SOOOO many people (unfortunately mostly noobs) who still play the Halo PC trial.

Personally I think they should release both Halo PC and Halo-2 PC for free. H2V gets a really bad rap, and in some ways for good reason, but its netcode is better than the dailup-centric netcode in HaloCE.

There are allot of drawbacks to both games, and I have run dedi's for both at times and play them regularly.

no.
One person had his own initiative to update H1, and he was even more lucky he had the source code.
1.09 is the most useless update anyway.
