All of these poeple keep asing how can i tell if someone is modding. Blah Blah i think i played with a modder but im not sure who it was. Thats all BS. Modders freaking jump 1000 feet in the air and run around the whole stage at mach speed. They shoot bullets out of their asses and sniper rounds from a BR. If you cant tell who is modding and whos not you should just quit Halo 2.

I KARNAG3, sorry mate, that not quite true. It may well be of the total retards but many of them are far more subtle about it. They know that maybe just tweaking the auto aim a bit will probably not get noticed. Nor will sheilds that are only slightly more robust than normal.

It might take a week or two to detect and stop them, but who knows how many people they will have boosted in that time? And lets not forget they can just sign straight back in and carry on doing it on another free trial!

Thats just great i was playing with one yesterday. This sucks. But i did have fun makeing warthog turrets out ofa pistiol i made a fort and it was cool!.....im getting ahead of myself. One question: What happens if a modder joins your custom game but conceal's his mods and just keeps playing with you? Anyone could get banned easiley.

So what if you play a custom game with somebody who has modded content on their xbox but doesn't use it in the games you play with them? I know a few people on my friends list that have been banned from MM and haven't removed the modded content because other than being banned, nothing more will really happen to them. Once they are banned, there really isn't an incentive to take the modded content off of their xbox. I like the people on my friends list, and would hate not be able to play with them just because they have the content an their xbox but aren't using it (at least not in the games I play with them). Please don't say "just don't play with these people anymore" because I'm sure some other people on my friends list have modded content but haven't told me so.

P.S. If you look at my stats, I don't play MM anyway, but that doesn't mean I will never want to play MM.

If you mod and only use it on Custum games, can you get banned? And if you play with people in custom games that mod, can you get banned?? Becuase one of my friends were playing custom games with a modder and I don't want him to get banned.

Bungie you should have just permently banned these people play with modders in MM. But people who play with modders in custom games should not get banned.I sometimes play modded custom games with som of my firends where we have no HUD so we can make movies.

Finally you guys are doing somethhing about this modder thing. But just wondering why is it that i remain invisible for the entire game if a blue screen appears while i have active camo. And also, is that called cheating cause it just happens sometimes.

Good job Bungie!!! People that try to boost their ranking by playing with modders makes no sense. There are a few people on my friends list that have boosted their ranking with modders that they know and they feel that they are better than everyone because of their rank, but actually there are most likely worse than you because they can only rank up if they cheat.

I really wanna thank you guys for getting rid of all those crappy cheaters. I am an avid Halo fan and have always hated all forms of cheating. You guys made an excellent game and it should be played the way it was made.

I hate when people go in with a cheater to win, but custom games are cool that way, I wish you could select to start with no weapon without mods, but you cant...

After reading the news it made me think, what if Matchmaking randomly puts you into a group that mods, wouldn't that be unfair for the person that doesn't mod get bans just because Matchmaking puts you into a bad group?

NOTE: But reading the news. Atleast I know that bungie is taking care of those cheaters in Live.

one thing bungie cant stop is people losing a game purposely
people who have 20 accounts and actually dont mod on them *wink wink* can actually keep some accounts low so they can boost friends leigit.
play a few games with friends, get a 20 or so, then start playing by urself and losing games

I went on halo 2 last night for the first time in a week and it says i was temporarily suspended. how long is the suspension for? This is a load of crap i have never purposely joined a game with modders and now bungie decides they want to suspend me because of other peoples idiocy.

It's a really sad situation. Here's what I think the situation is like. A kid breaks into his mother's money jar. He takes the money and goes out and buys a new bike. He rides around sporting his new bike saying, hey everyone, I went out and bought this bike with my hard earned money. Everyone looks at him and knows that:

1) He's an idiot
2) He's a liar
3) He's a cheater.

So of course no one believes him. Later the mother finds out that the money is missing and punishes the child.

Now here is where the problem lies. Does the mother just ground the child for a week and then let him ride his bike around after his punishement ends? Probably not. The mother would take the bike away to go along with some other type of punishment.

In this little scenario, the child is obviously all the cheaters out there. The mother is bungie. My solution would be to de-level the accounts that have been caught cheating. Most of these cheaters have gotten such a high level by riding with modders that they probably dont' even play Team Slayer anymore to keep their level from dropping. Now I know that presents a problem for bungie as to deciphering which accounts abused the system and which ones were caught in the crossfire. Overall I applaud bungie for addressing all the issues with the game. But I believe further punishment is something to consider..
