I'm real disappointed that after this big countdown and controvery, frankie comes out and denies the early release...and the demo in oxm thing was addressed in a forum somewhere and an oxm editor or something said yea probably, AFTER THE RELEASE OF HALO 2 !!! so no demo, and no early release...just a bunch of screenshots. great. what a disappointment...for the first time ever, i'm disappointed in bungie. for shame.

But who said that the website had to be a big deal? If they were releasing the game or a demo, then I think they would have done something more about it than making a small website.

The real beauty in ilovebees is in it's mystery and story. That's probably the main reason they made they website, and everybody thought they made the website only as a countdown to something big.

yea the site hints at something big on the horizon...as in august 24th...and its not a 'small site' its in the OFFICIAL trailer playing in hundreds (thousands? whatever) of theaters before blockbuster movies. so everyone will have seen it, and halo fans would go and notice clues etc etc and teh countdown and ppl started to speculate. bungie should have foreseen this and not even bothered with it getting our hopes up like that. they shouldn't have been so vague if they weren't going to have anything other than a freakin press release...oh well.

Even thought frankie did say that, and i feel foolish disagreeing with him, but why would they put it on a trailer that millions would see, just for a magazine, i still dont think thats what all this is

the Enkidu Terminals/Shell Game fanfic didn't lead to anything big... it didn't even turn out to be made by bungie... The point is it was still awesome...

The reward of an ARG like ILB is the experience, not something you get at the end (although that's not to say you won't get anything). If having a good time trying to solve a mystery/puzzle isn't your thing - you don't have to get involved.

If this "ARG" is all about mystery and puzzle solving, why in the world would Frankie go and ruin it for everyone? Isn't that the purpose of the whole puzzle/countdown; to keep people guessing and speculating until the end to see who was right or even remotely close?

I smell a cover-up.

I know that, but I thought the company being Microsoft would probably hype it up as much as possible. I think that TV ads would be more effective than a movie teaser, but thats just me. I know I see many movies, but I have yet to see the trailer at any movies(yes I did see spider-man). The only game trailer at the movies I have seen was for Everquest. I couldn't really think of anything else it could be because most theories have been disproved and such. We won't know until the timer ends, until then its all speculation.

I don't know, something FUN to do. Like the Cortana Letters.

And as for people who are disappointed in Bungie for not releasing Halo 2 early, why are you? For one, they already have a SET RELEASE DATE, which they're not going to change just so ilovebees.com can point to this. On the subject of a demo, this would ruin the surprise too much. Really, it's the fault of the people drawing these wild conclusions.

How would they have know that it would turn into such a big thing? I'm thinking they thought that since they didn't want to release any screen shots, they would make us distracted a bit and post a really weird thing, about really weird stuff. What they didn't expect, was how long it dragged on for. I'm pretty sure they put an obvious clue on that website, that everyone has passed, cause they would've put that in for sure if they had built it. So now, since the ILB thing is still going, they still have reason not to put out any more pics.

But this is just something i made up on the spot as of this moment. I don't believe a word of what is on that site, nor that it is even closly related to bungie.

Frankie didn't ruin it. He debunked a few theories which put people back on the right track. In all the ARGs (Alternate Reality Games) I've seen, the closer you get to the end the more is revealed... meaning theories will be proven wrong. No one should get upset, just move on and work out what theories Frankie didn't disprove.

you should be disappointed in yourself. You can't be mad or disappointed in Bungie. they never said a demo or the game is coming out. You guys said it and brought it upon yourselves. Now that I have been proven CORRECT I can now say if bungie had anything to do with Ilovebees it was to create hype about Halo 2. Nothing more and nothing less.

yes, but they should have dispelled those theories/rumors in the first place. I still think something has to happen. But there aren't really any convincing theories left; what else could it be? Just some screenshots? Just the fun of the game (no way)? I don't know...

Ok, 1. How would the flashing www.ilovebees.com get there? And 2. View the HTML Source, Bungie wrote that code, its seamlessly made but they made the font, size and how it follows your scroll, so.....Bungie DID make it..... Maybe in OXM on the 24th there will be a big big feature or something...

I geuss the assumption here is that "Frankie" knows all about early releases and demo releases. Maybe he said that it is not coming out from his perspective.

If there is no demo and no early release, what is the purpose of ilovebees? Answer: simply just to start the long hype trail toward release. Nothing more. So on August 10th - the next clue will be released, maybe a new web page (whoopee)!

Final point - How long did it take bungie to debunk the gba rumor? Maybe a day. How long for this rumor? They still have not squashed it. That is pretty lame for Bungie.

My belief pendulum is now swinging away from early release towards apathy.
