Subject: Why the hate on Halo 2?

Were it because it was the first game to introduce the BR? That is an understandable reason but Halo 2 had possibly one of the greatest series of campaign locations. Metropolis must have been my favorite but what I loved so much about the game was all the glitches.

Such as luring an ai banshee through the tunnel to get the scarab gun and just being able to freely fly throughout the entire city. This added replay value whether you like it or not. You could also start on one side of Delta Halo, climb the rock wall, finally making an epic journey around the entire lake and back to where you started only atop the opposite cliff wall. Halo 3 still has some of these areas to explore but death barriers and force fields really cut out our ability.

Who can forget those times of frolic atop Cairo station or jumping from rooftop to rooftop on Old Mombassa? Grenade jumping your way to new heights or superjumping up. Halo 2 was also the first Halo game to introduce skulls which basicly made the game impossible to beat. Surprisingly, this is the only Halo game I still don't have.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Halo 2 is my absolute favourite of the series. I could never hate the memories it gave me, nor the phenominal campaign and music score.

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

Most people that don't like it are probably refering to the multiplayer and how glitchey it was. Looking at the campaign side, the game was awesome there is nothing for me to complain about there.

MY FAVORITE GAME EVER! Their isn't a thing i hate about the game. multi player was fantastic. never had more fun on a multi player service before. HIT SCAN BR!=D The campaign is just as perfect as halo CE's campaign although it didn't have the level two betrayals. The music was amazing. halo 3 left a lot to be desired and all later halos. Nuff said.

Couldn't agree more. Have always been a 2 guy despite my absurd amount of CE. It's all the same game, and I love them all, but, the Arbiter, the long levels...what's not to like ? Outskirts is simply the perfect level, and seeing inside the Covenant...woof. I just wish 3 had kept the theme going by making R'tas Vadumee a playable character and making his taking of the Brute controlled ship a level.
