Subject: the squee masta's Guide for Becoming a Forum Moderator.

To Make Posts is Glorious

Some threads will get posts before others and it is the duty of the Leadership to ensure that posts are made that best suit the public welfare.

Be good.

1. Never, Ever, ask to become a moderator. It' just not done. So dont to it.
2. Be intelligent. Post intelligent things that are on topic. No one really wants to see stupid... stuff.
3. Be active. You can be intelligent, but no one will ever notice if you are never on.
4. Dont Flame/Spam. No one likes fighting. And no one likes Spam.
5. Dont bump threads. Yeah, I'm guilty of this, but if no one likes your thread, bumping wont help.
6.Be fun. Have a good attitude. You will be liked more. Thats a good thing.
7. Be able to Type. Use correct grammar, Capitalize, use punctuation, and spell things correctly. You need people to be able to read what you are typing.
8. Contribute to the community. Make Bungie.net better. Like I am trying to do right now.

Well I think thats everything. If you think It needs improvement, just post here and I'll edit the post. It would be nice if this was stickied if its good enough.

No offense man, I mean this is written out well, but I don't see much point in it. I always though that you shouldn't be trying to become a mod. The best one are the ones who be them selves, and by doing that are good productive and respectful members.

See. It all works. This will also make people who want to become mods to not flame/spam and contribute and stuff.

I'll never hear the end of it.

Or, you could just follow the rules and code of conduct, which you agreed to when you signed up...

Great.

Now, by following these steps, people will feel an entitlement to the position of moderator.

You know that they just scroll through The Code of Conduct without reading it. I am guilty of that. But the word "Official" makes them listen.

"Official" makes them listen.

Not really. There are lots of Official rules threads, posted by Bungie staff and the mods, but they still get ignored.

For some reason, a locked sticky by a mod or admin is like eye repellent for most people.

Most of those points aren't specific to becoming a moderator there specific to being a good bungie.net member.

I think you forgot the most important point you must have a passion for bungie.

That doesn't mean people won't just look at the title, and then think that by following the contents they deserve to become a moderator.
