"I can accept failure, everyone fails at something, but I can't accept not trying." - M. Jordan

I was wondering if any of the Halo books explain anything about the Master Chief making it back to earth? I heard that First Strike leaves off around the beggining of Halo 2. Well how close to the beggining of Halo 2?

I don't know. I haven't read any. But some guy decifered the bible and realised that Halo 2 might be based on the armegeddon bit. I hope he was right, (it was posted on the forum) but the only way we'll know if he was right is if all of the other covenant races turn on the prophets. There is also mention of a new enemy, (perhaps the forerunners) . It is resembled by a bright white ram or something. Male sheep, not battering ram, i reckon.

I hope the guy is right becuase it would make you/MC a biblical saint or somesort of angel. Cool heh?

Yeah, real special. I think of the forerunners as like some type of special species now. Like those things in the movie The Fifth Element . I think that they could like force the covanant to join with the human race and fight them. That would be tight to see an elite pick up a fallen marine and save him while killing off a ton of forerunners. I am assuming that the forerunners are these powerful foes.

I expect so, but I have heard that the covies wroship the forerunners. When you save Cpt Keyes from tTaR he mentions with cortana that the forerunner facility or halo is a religous object of great power.

Anyway I hate the idea of joining up with the covenant. It will be like asking the Al-Quieda to ally with the Americans. Almost completely impossible.

Not impossible, we our already joinded with them knowing the people in power. Remember, we have a crazy moron in the White House. Go see fahrenheit 911, very informative.

The strange thing is, we probably go on some wierd list for saying any political names like that. With all these stupid new laws and acts, me being 17. Any one could probably go to jail for saying their opinion.

All I can say, is that the books are great. Even if you aren't a real book-person, they are highly enjoyable (what book wouldn't be with the Maste chief in it!) and bring to light ALOT of key elements to the whole Halo universe.

Halo: First Stike , the 3rd novel in the series, and picks up right after the events of the destruction of the Halo installation/facility/Ringworld.......... or whatever you wish to call it.

The books finishes after a major Spartan 'Ass-handing' mission to stop ALOT of covie ships. The Chief, his fellow Spartans (not all of them though ; )) and some remaining crew and survivers from halo head back toward Earth.........I wont say anymore as to not ruin the plot.

So from the end of First Strike to the start of Halo 2 - with all given facts thus far - would be about a month or so in slipspace heading back towards Sol.

hope that helps. ; )

Your saying that america is turning into a dictatorship? Well that is intresting. And to europeans, Tony Blair Doesn't represent all of us. Still the fact remains that it is very unlikely that the covies would ally with the Humans. (UNSC?)

*Standing Motif replies* ; D

Book #1: The Fall of Reach, is about the beginning of the spartan program, the first contact with the covenant and the attack and bombardment of Reach (a human military stronghold).

Book #2: Halo: The Flood, is all about the events after the fall of reach, and YOU GUESSED IT, the events on halo - ie, you playing the game.

Book #3: Halo: First strike. As I posted above.

Of course, I am gleaning over the depth of the books and the information they provide - just so I dont spoil it for you.

But so far there is only 3 books. Can't wait for a 4th!!!!

Sounds good. Very good infact, That fall of reach sounds awsome. I hope, but I doubt that there will be a fall of reach type multiplayer game where you and a couple of spartan mates. maybe with a few marines are holding out as long as possible at reach or something similar.

But the flood and first strike sound like the same book. If Flood is about the game, and first strike ends at the end of the game when some spartans are ojn their way to earth, Where in tha game does it change books?

Comrad - read what I wrote dude, Halo: First Strike ENDS with the spartans heading back to Earth AFTER defeating a whole heap of convenant ships at a docking and refueling station Called "the unyielding heirophant". they are now heading towards Earth, then, halo 2 kicks off from there.
