Subject: What do you think the Halo 2 LIVE community will be like?

I AM WIN WIV LEET WEPENZ

I bought broadband and X-Box LIVE a few monthes ago for all the new online games coming out this year, Especially Halo. Untill today I've only ever played on Project Gotham 2 online and thats been fine, if a little boring after a while.
Today I decided to try out Return to Castle Wolfenstein's online mode, and I have to say they're a complete bunch of jerks. I tried to join 3 different games with different hosts, and each time i did all I got was FU#@ING NOOBIE!!! screamed in my earpiece then I was promptly kicked out of every game. It's not even as if I did anything wrong within the rules of the game, I only managed to stay connected for about ten seconds.
Sorry about the rant, but my question is will the Halo 2 community be more welcoming to new players? I mean, it's hard to enjoy a game when you're getting nothing but abuse. I hope that it will be, because my experiences today have soured me towards the whole LIVE scene.

If you find the right people, you'll be fine, i mean i welcomed and taught newbies when i was new to splinter cell, well, when they were new... I was like level 3

Now teaching newbies can be hard... (omg am i gonna get ninjafied? Hope not, i'm being polite)

But its fun, they become good friends... and eventually may surpass your skill...

Just play with people that you know when you play Halo 2.... i know i will, and they'll treat ytou well!

I think it's funny how the lowest people on this planet can be so arrogant.

everyone has to start somewhere. i don't see why some people get all worked up about it when someone who is just starting out joins in a game. so what you get a couple easy kills. xbl is friendly compared to people in xbconnect though. you want to talk about jerks. some people just take gaming way to seriously and forget that it's a game.

the good thing about halo 2 is that everyone will be starting from scratch at pretty much the same time. that is if you already have xbl and are ready to go at launch.

I know i won't be as good as many other people in Halo 2 when it's released (i play Halo PC more than the xbox version), so I hope I don't get kicked out of games for bein a newb =\. for some reason, i think that may be the case (based on basically any online games)

i never experience the halo xbox community, but the halo pc community isn't that bad. at first, everyone would team kill like crazy, but then gearbox released the patch that banned TKers, which then basically ended it. i hope bungie will impliment a feature like that.

Your right, alot of jerks on Live i've had bad times on live when I get a new game and go live.
things like..."Hey whos this NOOB!!!"in the geekest voice(like haralds form the Red Green Show) and lets not forget the 350 ton kid sitting on the floor screaming "NOOB!!!" but you should keep on going Live and when Halo 2 does come out there will always be a place for "noobs" with me.

By the way on live I am Trigun666

I hope they can kick all the idiotic little kids off of XBox Live before then.... A majority of the time when I get kicked is because I slaughter the little kid who is hosting... Some times they even switch to my team just to say I'm getting kicked.....

Though, the Europe lil kids don't seem to bother me much... It's the ones that think they're a punk and are just annoying in the long run...

^^ yea some little kids can be very annoying sometimes. But one thing i hate is when people just bag on kids with their voices being squeeky. That bugs the hell outta me cuz i see it as man... i was once there and i think they are just trying to play the game and have some fun and play the game! Some of the little kids have better attitudes than guys my age! But halo 2 i hope will have a good community if not i will stick to playing with my friends. i would never call neone and noob and like really mean it to be a jerk. That is wrong i mean...we were all noobs at one time werent we? neone feel free to add to ur friends list i have a crap load of games GT in the sig.

they already have upgraded xbl to tsunami. i believe ranbow six 3:black arrow was the first game to use some of these new features. halo 2 is supposed to be the first to really exploit the new features.

Will NTSC (USA) boxes and PAL (UK) boxes be able to play against each other on Halo 2 for XBLive? I dont have Live yet but have XBConnect and they can't on that.

Yes, I would definitely keep getting on live. Try to make alot of friends between now and the release date. That way you will always have a buddy to play with. Also, keep playing halo so you can practice up. I'm sure most of the controls are going to be identical.

The question is will the lag be tolerable enough for it to matter.
