Just a suggestion after seeing a poor attempt at a fake blacklisting message in the Flood; couldn't the messages be in white text to prove that they are official? Obviously, it's hardly a necessity.

I'd still be in favour of blacklisting to anyone who tries to impersonate a moderator.

Link to the thread, maybe?

Umm... I don't think that's really necessary.

If you want to find out if someone is blacklisted - In a thread, when you seet the message that shows that the thread-creator has been blacklisted, hit "Reply" to their post. If you see the button "Quote" on the bottom, that means that they are faking it. If you don't see "Quote," then they really are blacklisted.

I've seen a couple of people doing this recently aswell. I agree they should be coloured just like the moderators text.

What is the point. I don't get it, is there humor in it or they have no life so they make pointless threads?

Vella, anyone who is caught or reported for impersonation of a Bungie.net Moderator or Bungie employee will be permanently banned from the forums. So if you find people trying to do this please report them to the nearest Moderator.

I know that, but for threads like this one, why not just blacklist the user or delete the topic?

Yeeeaaahhh... That kid is starting to freak me out a little... I mean, not everything I say must be made into a thread.

Anyway, it is blatantly obvious that it is done by the member when said member has a signature or has posted again in that thread. I remember somebody in the thread having a title like "Look at this before the mods blacklist me" and all that was in there was the Moderator Notice and the member didn't have a signature. Then everybody went into the thread and said "What did he do/say?" I like Psyched's idea of making it the official white just in case.

To point out that he's a tool.

Something you have to realize, Vella, is that every action we make, there's always someone on the forums that'll jump at the chance to question it. I could've deleted it, but there'd be some guy that'd get in my face immediately; "omfg why'd you ban him he didn't do anything."

Impersonating a moderator is a serious offense that gets you blacklisted the moment a moderator crosses it. Impersonating a blacklist... Well, it's stupid. But, it's also harmless. I'm sure there are better causes you could put your energy behind than a "blacklist people that pretend to be blacklisted" rule.

That's not to say someone who does it too often (read: more than once) won't get blacklisted for spam. Just that I don't feel that particular spam deserves harsher attention than the rest of your basic forum drivel.

Heh, every one jumps at the chance to question a mod, but there really is no point, it just makes your and the person life harder. I think the it's a good idea to have the text color be different though.

Ahhh, I remember, when I first did that, ahhh, so long ago.

Then everyone else decided it would be fun too...
