Subject: Just beat the game on Legendary

I played through Halo 2 & 3 on legendary once each when I first got each game. I can't get myself to play through even a whole level on any difficulty on those 2 games after the first run.

I don't even want to know how many times I have played through Halo 1's campaign on legendary. That's really the only difficulty I play it on any more. I have had each level down to a science almost for years now. Its just ingrained into my mind forever now.

For example:
POA: Holding 3 weapons trick almost everytime. Sometimes, i try to get to the megg just for kicks. And, I can walk through those unlit hallways in complete darkness without making a wrong turn.

Halo: I know where every drop ship lands and in which order they come.

T&R: All the locations of patroling elites might as well have arrows pointing to them. In the ship, the invis sword elites light up the doors they come through so they are dead within seconds. And when i get the invis myself and backsmack unaware invis elites while the human prisoners watch and i become visible right before I set them free...its like poetic justice. And then I take a ride in a super banshee everytime as well.

TSC: 3rd place in my top 3 halo 1 levels. I'm a one man beach storming machine. Next to no health damage taken and all marines survive the first attack 80% of the time. You know that group of jackals standing in a circle in the trees? Warthog donut to clean them up in a hurry. Then I leave the marines there shooting at the rest of the covies, and go back in the downed warthog to get more marines just for -blam!-s and giggles. Also leaving a warthog with a gunner in it to mop up the elites guarding the entrace to the lower area is always fun.

AOTCR: Best FPS level ever. I have that first attack where foehammer drops you off down. Toss a couple grenades and clean house. That one interior room where all the grunts are asleep...I get goose bumps when I leave that room, because of all the silent mayhem I cause...even though usually when I leave that room I toss a grenade to the jackal in the tiny hallway thing...you just hear him scream and then glass flies everywhere. I also usally toss a plasma by one of the shades on the bridge right before I go through the door. The game saves that area, then when you exit the door at the bottom and come out under the bridge it reloads the area and the shade comes crashing down next to the shade on the ground. Oh and that elite that gets in the ghost a bit after that same point...yeah he never makes it to the ghost.

343: Most of the time I ride the pelican to the top of the map, make jenkins say something, then proceed to see the floating assault rifles. The cutscene from his helmet cam is my favorite.

The Library: This level has always been the least interesting. I usually just keep running unless I have to wait for spark to open a door. Whenever I get to the top though I like to jump around the outside of that platform.

Two Betrayals: I do enjoy this one when I play it, but I'd rather just play AOTCR, Two Betrayals does have a more intense atmosphere though. I usually at least try to kill the chief with the banshee in the cutscene. I also love flying a banshee around in the halo room. Other than that I guess I just play it...I haven't played this level in forever.

Keyes: Another one I just play through. Flood levels are kinda let downs. I almost always accidentaly get flood buddies on this level. You know, the flood guys with no arms that just follow you around since they cant attack you? I heart my flood buddies.

The Maw: Second favorite level because its just so epic. Straight forward level again. Just memorizing when and where the attacks are and how many enemies, and what kind of enemies. That really applies to every level though. But boy when I get to that engine room its like clockwork. 90% of the time the only flood that have time to spawn in this room are the required spores and the attack forms on top. It maybe take me 45 seconds to a minute to finish that room, but it's always fun. And the warthog run to the finish...I don't think I know any racing game tracks as well as I know that warthog run. I always have some time to hear about the food nipple as well.

That's just scratching the surface of this game. On the POA, Halo, TSC, AOTCR, and The Maw, I know EVERY single encounter in the level. I mean I know what enemies are going to spawn, which ones are most likely to spawn when they come in groups, if an enemy doesn't spawn at one point, I know the alternate spawn for all of em, its just ridiculous. I never tried to memorize these things. I just played it so much I just know. Its like when you watch a movie so many times. You don't have the script, but you know the lines and you know the scenes, and you know when you can see the camera in a mirror in the distance.

Halo 1.
Fkn best game ever.
