To keep your minds off of Aug. 24th and ilovebees, I bring you this thread to disuss level ideas. I had one a while back, and I tried to find it, but couldn't. So does anyone have any ideas for a level, Bungie might read this and make it downloadable.

I'll start off. Lets see....How about a MP level that has tons of objects to hid behind. There would be a fort (like in Blood Gultch) in the middle, and all the objects (walls, rocks, trees, cars, anything) would be around it. This would be a non-veichle level. The surrounding walls could have some way to get up to platforms (Battle Creek) that would be good for sniping. This would be more of a circular level.

Please, post your everyday dream level here. And flaming is not exceptable here, as it says in the rules. I do not flame others.

That would be fun, for both Multi Player and Single Player. Ha, paintball, I remember that.

Take the forest idea and put it on a steep hill. Have it on assault mode where one team has to charge up the hill, trying to hide behind trees and rocks while the other team defends a fortress on top of the hill. I can imagine hiding behind a big tree while under a hail of fire from a turret located on their base. At least it seems fun to me.

How about MP levels based on parts of the Single Player game? I always wanted to have Multiplayer games on The Silent Cartographer island and the Truth and Reconciliation. That would be sweet.

This would be an assault mission. Elites vs Spartans. The Level (starting off were the elites spawn) will be in a small forest like area. (you know, trees? lol) and the Elites have to run through the forest to get to a big gate, in which they need to destroy the defenses (turrets and spartans) to get inside. Once the gate is open, the Covies must fight through the Spartans to deactivate (stay inside the base) the Orbital MAC for a set time limit. That would be cool level. While you are fighting, every once and a while you'll see the MAC fire into the atmosphere! That'd look sweet! Just like the books!

That would be lots of fun! Ooo, I can imagine it right now. I would be an intense level. A great idea. I would probably be swearing and screaming the whole time. When I really get into a game (lets say legendary on Halo with a friend), I can be pretty loud, and its fun to do.

Back to the subject. About that level, maybe the attackers could have two Ghost's and a Warthog. You would have to jump out before it exploded, because of all the incoming fire.

After posting this I read the others, and those are some great ideas (not kidding). See, isn't this fun! Keep them coming.

No more ideas after I go away for a bit.

Well, x9one9x thought of a gametype called Grinder (where the Covie's come in armies and you have to defend). I thought of a level for it. Its a building that is somewhat like the powersub station in Zanzibar. There's 3 entrences, one on top (stairs to it), one on ground (just an open walkway), and a door that can be opened from the inside (not a gate like in Zanzibar). There's plenty of ammo inside, and 3 turrets outside. The level is rectangled shapped. On the sides of the walls, there is stairs that go up to a platform that goes all the way around the level. The stairs are on the attackers side. This allows the attackers another way to sneak up, or get on the roof.

So do you mean a level in space? MP or SP or both?

a game mode in which you occupy enemy forces, like have you ever played perfect dark? kind of like the opposite of co-op
one person is the main character doing the mission as normal, while player two or however many more on the xbox it can handle embody the enemies on the level, of course they'd have to be weakened but whenever they get killed they get transferred to the next enemy, it's actually really cool and fun, would be awesome for halo 2

i have another one that would be a level designers nightmare but the ultimate map.
make a mini halo. i mean in scale the diameter would be like a football field or two or so, cuz if you think about it not only would you have to worry about people in front of you but people on the other side of the ring shooting accross the diameter
if you don't understand this idea i can clarify

Someone posted an idea on a similar thread a month or two ago about a level that was on the inside of a sphere, like a Dyson sphere (but obviously not 1 AU in radius), i.e. you can see everything around and above you, all the way to the other side of the sphere. Essentially, you could snipe someone by looking straight up.

I have a variation on this idea.

Instead of a level on the INSIDE of a sphere, how about a level on the OUTSIDE of a sphere. Think Jedi Starfighter meteor level on Xbox. One base would be on one side, one base would be on the other (or multiple bases). Therefore, you would have any number of paths to the opponents' base (think about leaving the North pole--no matter which direction you start walking, you're heading directly toward the South pole).

This type of level would create several interesting conditions:

First, long range combat would be very difficult. Sniping from the ground would be almost useless. Close range combat (shotgun) would rule the day, and surprise kills with a fast-moving warthog could happen quite a lot. Grenades, thanks to their arcing trajectory, could in theory be thrown several times farther than normal, although aiming would be difficult.

Wow, that would be crazy, either inside or out. But outside would be better.

Here's another one. There are four separate platforms that make the shape of a sqaure, and are close enough to jump to. The platforms are suspended by big pillars that go way down, so if you fall off of a platform, your dead. It would make strategy more interesting, There wouldn't be much sneaking around. On each of the platforms, there are two-storied structures that provide cover and a hiding place. Each platform has a different sized and shaped structure, one would have more places to hide but it was smaller, stuff like that. It would make each of the platforms even for a team game, Team Slayer for example.
