In General:
1. The huge, vastness of some maps. (Blood Gulch and Sidewinder)
2. Being able to take 2 or 3 different routes per map.
Like Blood Gulch and Sidewinder. Blood Gulch, there's 3 ways: The Field, the cave, and the ridge. All great ways to get around. In comparison, Halo 3's version of Blood Gulch, has one way to get around: by man cannon, then walking the rest of the way. Sidewinder also has 3: The big, open, ice field, the tunnel going through the cliff, and the teleporter system to the cliff.
Blood Gulch
1. The bases. Simple, yet awesome.
2. The cave on blue base. You could get 3/4 to red base completely undetected.
3. The ridge. Awesome sniping spot.
4. The dark, elevated area behind red base. You could see the entire map and is the epitome of sniper perches: You have ammo and health nearby, you're in a friendly area, and it overlooks the entire battlefield.
Sidewinder
1. The symmetrical-ness.
2. Hearing the freezing wind when it was quiet.
3. The tunnels; lots of fun to go through.
4. How it was kind of dark-ish. Not like nighttime, but not exactly bright either. I love how Sidewinder looks.
So, what did you love about Halo: Combat Evolved maps in general, or about any map in particular?
