I think the game is SO much more interesting when you defi the games boundaries (thats where most of the easter eggs are =] )

Yup, once I started exploring it didn't take long for me to realize that Campaign and MP were only half the game (or less). Personally, I've spent more time tricking, fooling the game and just plain exploring than I did on Campaign and MP put together.

How about HSH? You mentioned Legendary runs and that usually means HSH in my little world.

HIH = High Impact Halo (closed up)

HSH = High Speed Halo - Still very active, it's the pro place for speed runners, especially Legendary runs. They record their times so you can watch their technigue on any Halo.

Those guys at HSH are way ahead of me, I'm a member but I don't post. I stick to tricking/glitching.

Arrogant hyperbolic exclamations of woe? Seems like a normal day for Halo/Bungie.net.

Earlier today, I played some Delta Halo and got outside the map for fun. I drove across all the mountains and even got to the point where the skybox ends.

It makes me really sad that Halo 3 and Reach are so restricted (you can still get out of maps but it requires a lot more than just driving)....

The exploration aspect of Halo 2 is one of the positive things that can happen when you have to rush out a game.

Even if the game wasen't rushed, i don't think Halo 2 would have had invisible walls like Halo 3-Halo Reach. Maybe the technology just wasen't there yet, or maybe they just for some odd reason thought it was a good thing to start including from Halo 3 and on.

Restricing a game with invisible barriers dosen't just take away the fun of a game, but also kills the illusion. If they have to restrict it, the do it with real objects.
And if people figure out how to get past them, so what.

Reach and it's Return to battle field zone barriers, thats probaly the most retardet thing to be included in a Halo game. That stuff feels as fake as it does in call of duty.

There's still a hell lot of tricking and exploring and Reach though (much more than in Halo 3). Pan Cam, Out of Map launching, barrier bypassing....Some guy even managed to get out of the Skybox in Tip of the Spear! Everyone who played Reach knows that this is an incredible feat, since Reach's skyboxes are massive and the objects in the background are actual 3D objects.

Thing is, in Halo 2, you had no barriers and thus you didn't have to use complicated tricks to bypass such barriers.

Sounds like some of that you mention is quite worth trying, or at least watching on youtube. But i know it's possible to get out, i did a little exploration myself and i might try that tip of the Spear one with a friend.
But in general Reach is so much less appealing as a Halo game to me, making exploration less fun. And there where some very clever tricks in Halo 2 despite there not beeing barriers (or that many).

But one thing is that i'd think no barriers make exploration more fun.
The other thing i was knocking the game for, was that it kills the illusion. Places where you should have been able to walk too are blocked, and sometimes the barriers are so low that they are blocking regular jumps. In many places they are not even trying to prevent you from getting out, they are just so low or inside the level that they interfere with normal gameplay. And when you meet a barier you instantly realises you are playing a game. It feels fake and should be left out of Halo. The RTB in Reach was just yet another step that achieved even more fakeness.

Also reach isn't halo....................it's only reach. I refuse to call Reach halo. First they got rid of O'Donnell for the music. Then they added the stupid armor lock and got rid of duel weilding.

I forgot what is halo.

Pile of lol.

1. Marty is still there
2. Dual wielding wasn't in CE
3. Reach is Halo, it's called "Halo": Reach, it's set in the universe and it shares a lot of gameplay similarities with previous titles.

I only noticed how stupid i sounded AFTER i read your comment.

Also i'm just trying to say there isnt that FEEL of the game as there was dual wielding in halo 2 i wasnt talking about CE.

Marty wrote the halo reach music? It isnt as upbeat as before.

When we began to play Halo, we took an oath!
According to our station! All without exception!
On the blood of our fathers, on the blood of our sons, we swore to uphold the Seventh Column!
Even to our dying breath!
Those who would break this oath are heretics! Worthy of neither pity nor mercy!
We shall grind them into dust! Wipe them as excrement from our boots!
And continue our march to glorious salvation!

Wow, Grumpy, you've done some amazing threads! I've saved this and the extreme tricking one and hope to do some of it soon.

Keep playing the classics, we might find new things!

I'd just like to say I'm the person (along with my dad on co-op) who first discovered the Uprising escape detailed in that video back in 2007 when nobody this side of the moon seemed to have been over the tops of that level, I put it on Halopedia afterwards, just a bit of history for everyone =P
