Looking at the last E3 demo it's amazing to see how open and non linear the level design is, especially since Halo's level's were mostly linear. However, are open non linear level's better. For one thing it throws up a whole lot of problem's for Bungie in terms of gameplay pacing, it's so much easier to set up gameplay encounter's when you know which way the player is headed, it's not so easy when you don't. Bungie could have just continued with similar level design to Halo, by creating level's which control your path through them. I'm glad they didn't, open non linear level's or games is the future, just look at the grand theft auto games. What do you lot think?
