People always come up with new ways to kill bandiwidth. :-)
I could see it happening, but it would have to be after the game was released and they had enough subscribers to release the download of on Live. I'm guessing it would be a Pay To Play download, but they would make money on it.
--A note on feasabiltiy, a map to fit all of the Halo 2 players would be a massive download. All those players would consume a lot of bandiwidth, and making maps and organizing things like that costs money.
The only feasible way to do it would be to create somewhere of around 15 maps, but you could only DL one for the tournament, and that would be the one you played. 15 Maps would lower the bandiwith needed, and as each map was conquered by covenant or humans, it would fit into a tally. The team with the largest tally wins.
--Creating anything of that scale will have to be purchased content, or of course, an expansion or sub seque (Very possibly non DL, go and buy it from a vendor, just like usual. It would probably cost about the same as the initial game, but it could be repeated weekly.
