I just of late made a small notice. Nobody really likes it when someone goes back, and revives a dead thread, though not really a condemnable action, many people fall victim of not noticing that the thread is old and post in it thinking it's current. This made me realize that there isn't really anything to indicate on the forum pages when the original post was made, would it be a just consideration to have some mark-up for when the post was started?

The only issue that I can see is that with really popular posts, it may appear just the same as an old, but revived, thread. But something that has 2000 posts since 30 days wouldn't be the same as something 10 days old with 4 posts, though you could think of that example as an exaggeration.

Well the problem you brought up wouldn't be much of a problem if it went by the last post in the thread.

I don't really think that it's time for Achronos to pull out the green color tag for posts over x amount of days though. I don't think it's nessesary enough.

Maybe theres some way of auto-locking a topic after it is say, ten plus days old or 30 days old. That way there dead for sure, but still there if some one needs them for a reference.

30 days sounds good, IMO. But I think Bungie should program the whole thing so that if the thread has been inactive for 30 days, it gets locked.

not really.

Many threads survive for months at a time without being stickied.

A girl saying "hi" in the Bungie.net forums is like putting chum in a shark infested pool, only instead of sharks attacking it's nerdy teen boys...

Ahh yes, the old posts being reincarnated for no reason in particular. I did suggest before they should be locked or deleted, but then people would be constantly creating the same thread as they already do because they can't discuss the topic on the old thread. Instead we can wait for the Search Feature to make an appearance and people will look for old posts and actually have something purposeful to say, even if anyone who was originally conversing in the post has long since left.

That was hilarious. Do you know where that thread is? How long was "Describe the Poster above you in 3 words" going?

He got it locked by a mod, so no bringing it back. It went on almost as long as the Word Association thread, or maybe longer, I can't remember. Either way it was around 5 months.
