Okay, so me and my friend got on to play together, and when I went to "Internet" and clicked "Get List", only a handful or Servers appeared, while for him, he was getting around 600 Servers with the same Filters I was using, I was only getting around 60-ish. None of the Servers he could see, I could see, so it was impossible for us to play together.

If it matters, I do have the Disc version of Halo: CE, I went to Halomaps.org and downloaded the Custom Edition like I always did in the past, but this is the firs time this has happened.

Anybody know what's wrong? I have all the latest Patches.

Make extra sure you have the NEWEST patches. Also, make sure your shortcut only says "-console -screenshot". There cannot be "-devmode", or it will not connect correctly.

Furthermore, try resetting your internet as well as refreshing the list after it's loaded. It also takes a while for it to load sometimes.

Trust me, I have all the Patches, I tried to reinstall them, and it says my game is up to date. I've also tried waiting for closely around 15 minutes. I also have never used a Devkit, so I don't think that's my problem.

This may sound silly, but make sure that all the maps you've downloaded are extracted and in the actual map folder. If you are searching with just the default map list 60 servers sounds about right. Your server list grows with your map list, remember.

Never happened that way before. There's always Servers for Maps i haven't downloaded yet, and it's always been that way for me, it's always said about 600 Servers no matter how many Maps I have downloaded.

If there's such a thing as "Realms" in Halo: CE, then that's most likely the problem, if so, how do I change it?

My guess is either your pal doesn't have the game updated fully, or you are using different editions (ie Custom Edition, or Original). Unless you guys are using the same copy, key and all?

If that isn't the case, then I dunno.

This has happend to me in Halo PC Regular alot, Me and my friend went to play and some servers he could see and some I could not. But eventually i'd start to see them pop up. I sometimes think it has something to do with connection and/or location.

Sadly, that cannot be the case. Because my game is fully up to date (According to what my game tells me), and he can somehow see hundreds more Servers than I can. We were also both using Custom Edition.

Whats new in the world?

Everyone on Halo Custom Edition use special files to make so the can ban people who use aim-bots and that kind of cheap hacks just to get some kicks, anyway heres the link: just replace your files with these new ones. You SHOULD find some servers then. (Average 300 Servers / 1500 Players)

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

That version is out of date. Try the newer version instead.
To yse it, enable console, hit ~ and then type "version 1.00CE".

Gaming for fun.

Sounds like your friend is getting more servers because he's running on an older version of Halo CE. Many, many pirates play the first, 1.00 version of the game since it's not hard to download it illegally. You can play on the same servers with your friend with the help of a version changer app. You also need to have the executables of the versions of Halo you want to play. You can PM me if you found any of these words gibberish.

...How many times did I just type 'version'?

You don't need the version EXEs though to change versions. All you need is version changer, and it will let you play any version of halo with any exe.

It says "Requested function "version" cannot be executed now".
What do I need to do in order to make it work? Did I type something wrong, like in the target line, or something?

You need to install it first. Paste Strings.DLL and VersionChanger.DLL in your custom edition folder.

I can see "Strings.DLL" in the folder, but I can't see "VersionChanger.DLL", nor do I know how to put it in there.

When I type "Version 1.00CE" into the Console it says "Requested "Version" could not be executed now".

What do I do?

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Download the .rar file Jacob linked for you. If you can't open it once it's downloaded, get 7-zip. Make a copy of your original strings.dll from the Halo CE folder in case you want to restore it. After 7-zip is installed, right-click the .rar file you downloaded and hit open with 7-zip. Extract both the .dll files inside to your Halo CE folder. After this, when you run Halo CE, the console command will work.

I did exactly as it says, I tried doing what you guys said and I tried looking up a Video on Youtube (Luckily I found one). I followed it thoroughly and when I type in the Console "Version 1.00ce", it just says "Requested function "Version" cannot be executed now".

I'm obviously doing something wrong, but I'm not sure if I missed something.
