Hi. Later today when I tried to load a game (keys 45:34) it started me off at the begining of the level. This puzzled me so I tried to load all of my saved games. They all also started me off at the begining of the aproprate level. I then tried all of my other profiles and no luck. I would appreaceate (sorry spelled that wrong) your advice. thankyou.

Patching the game does that to your checkpoints.

I always thought that loading any level started you at the beginning - it's only when you choose 'continue' that you're started back at you're last checkpoint...

I'll have to try that out...

loading should take you to the checkpoint you saved at, not to the beginning of the level.

if you click "continue", you should start at the last checkpoint unless you are at the beginning of a new level. if you select "load game", you can choose checkpoints that you "save" during gameplay.

I understand all of that but, I load a saved checkpoint something like 343 Guilty Spark 35:24 and it starts me at the begin' of the level. I havn't downloaded patches except for the 1.07 patch. Will that do it?

The 1.07 patch shouldn't effect your saved campaign files in any way. The patches, as i understand them, are primarily multiplayer security and stability repairs.

Even if I'm worng about that, i still staqnd by my statement. I've had 1.07 on for quite a while, and it's never effected my saves. Three possible solutions:

hard drive corruption MIGHT be a factor though. What's your OS (98, ME, 2000, XP)? I doubt that would be your problem, but a quick Disk repair and a defrag couldn't hurt and it would eliminate the possibilities.

If it's really getting annoying, try a reinstall. i've doen this twice and not lost my save games either time.

or

Instead of using the load game option, try just hitting continue.

No, even when I hit continue it won't work. I have Windos XP and It still has alot of free space. I might try to reinstal. I have already betten the game on legendary so it won't be that hard on me. thx for all your help and tips everybody!

Wait a sec - did it do that just once or is it a continued problem? Save Files are saved outside of your Halo Directory, so if it only happened that one time, I doubt that reinstalling will help it at all.
