I'm trying to play through Two Betrayals on Heroic, but there are so many flood forms with rocket launchers! I never noticed how many there were until I constantly died.

There's like 3 of them at the 2nd pulse generator that you have to disable. It's taken me like 6 runs and I still can't get it.

They keep rocketing me the moment they see me and it's incredibly frustrating. Even after I disable the generator, it doesn't even freakin' checkpoint unless I go outside, but guess what? There's 2 combat forms with rocket launchers running through the doorway. Agh!

Anybody know how to get past that part?

Oh lordy, I feel your pain. Those blasted things gave me a great deal of trouble back in the day.

I'm not quite sure how I did it myself. However, I think I can give you a few pointers. Not only should you use their Rocket Launchers against them (by this I mean pick one up and use it, providing it still has ammunition), you should draw them in and use the barricades around you as cover. Then you can pop out and fire your own rounds at them once they are temporarily unable to fire. Never stay in sight for more than a second if you can avoid it.

I wouldn't be suprised if this advice isn't very helpful. It HAS been quite a while since I've done this myself. I really hope this does you some good.

I (just) beat that part on Heroic...I might be able to help. When you're powering your way INTO the room, use a magnum on anything that's across the room, and the shotgun on anything close. Keep making sure to duck back through the doors if they come too close. When they stop coming into the hallway, do another sweep of the room and make sure you kill everything.

If you want to, switch the magnum for a rocket launcher. Then, go back into the hallway you came into from and run at the generator, destroy it, and the second you do, turn around and throw a grenade through the door. Then hide behind something and start popping shotgun shells/rockets/more grenades at any flood that come at you. Make sure you kill everything, then go outside.

Good luck =)

Ideal weapons: Rockets+Shotgun+Fragmentation Grenades

Blow the generator, watch the door. When it's sufficiently open, blast a rocket and a frag into it. Then, switch to shotgun and stick somewhat close to the door opening, hurling grenades in when reasonable and shooting flood that make it through.

Most of all, BE VERY AGGRESSIVE. BE MORE EPIC THAN A TOSHIRO MIFUNE SAMURAI CHARACTER FROM AN AKIRA KUROSAWA FILM!!! The easiest way to die here is to be cautious! If you cower in a corner instead of covering the door, the flood will get good area coverage through the room. At that point, the fight will either take a while to bypass OR you'll be killed. Or both. Even charging into the hallway shotgun/grenades blazing after the initial rocket/grenade is generally better than hiding (and speedrunners do it all the time!).

Last note: In the initial grenade/rocket attack you hurl at the flood, make sure it's a frag grenade and that it makes it DEEP into the hallway. The rocket should be fired to take out the flood up front (you know, being a direct fire weapon and all...). If you play your initial grenade/rocket well enough, the rest of the flood will sometimes be very nearly nonexistant!

Have good fun and make much explosion!

For the second generator:

Have 4 frag grenades, a shotgun, a rocket launcher, and the ability to spam explosives into a doorway.

To start off, before you enter the pulse generator, get close. This will cause many infection forms to spawn. Get rid of all of them. Then, take out your rocket launcher, and equip frag grenades. Step into the generator and QUICKLY get out, run to the left side of the room (your left) and shoot a rocket into the door way, followed by frag grenades, and another rocket. Shotgun any surviving flood. (unlikely, but the ones that don't come in the door will still be there)

This works because all of the flood with rocket launchers come in that door. Just use their own medicine against them.

Then, re-pick up your pistol, collect up ammo for your shotgun and pistol, and grenades, and continue on your happy way. This works on legendary, also.

i have trouble with them on normal forget heroic or legendary. this one part on the level after the library (i forget the name) has you interrupt some sort of energy thingy and when you leave the room and turn the corner, there is a rocket flood who immediatly fires and kills you. the thing that sucks for me is that i have no nades to couter this

My strategy makes this part quite easy, even on Legendary. Just sayin'.

Tupolev's got it. 2nd pulse generator is a serious hump in terms of a no-die Legendary run. My method was to (after all Flood are gone, have RL and shotgun fully loaded as well as all grenades)...back into the generator so you can have a clear view of the entrance doorway when you move forward again. Move so you can see the entry doorway and hurl a single frag against the entry door's inside wall. From there, turn immediately and begin shotgunning the Flood that appear and make your way around the circular generator area till you get through a doorway and start towards the entrance. Is always a good idea to throw down plasmas behind you, as well as frags in front to clear the way. It gets kind of dicey, and prepare to kiss Mama Failure square in the mouth, but, once you get the rhythm of it, it works pretty well.
