Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.

It really saddens me to see the current game enthusiasts play Modern Warfare 2 and Gears of War, yet treat each other with deep disrespect. Especially towards Halo 2.

Every time a gamer tries to convince me that the Call of Duty series is so much better than the Halo trilogy, I simply remind them of the fact that if were not for the stunning outcome of Halo 2, we probably wouldn't have games like MW2 and Gears of War.

People like this have no decent sense of what a great game is or what they're getting. Sometimes I truly wish that just for one day, the world would see itself without Halo 2. Then those people would say to themselves: "We had no idea what made these things possible. We really should've looked back toward the past history."

And you know what the saddest part of it is?

People just won't do that. They always look forward.

XBox LIVE on the 360 is defined by Halo 2.

Everything about Halo 2, from lobby systems (including stuff like party restrictions i.e. closed, open, invite only, max party size) to matchmaking to custom games to 'message all friends' to 'invite all friends' to easy muting to 'carry your friends over to another lobby' to armour customisation (it was basic, but it paved the way), to custom icons and to booting people out of your game (rarely done in Halo 3 as it's hard enough to get a custom game going where people are dying to join); to name a few.

A generation of unappreciative brats with a false sense of entitlement.

Is it just me, or was the community in halo 2 so much better then say the community in halo 3 or cod? I can't tell you how many hilarious people I played with or people I met (who turned into real life friends) in this game. Everyone had a good time in this game regardless of the out come. Now a days all people care about is getting a 50 account or being "mlg pro clutch rippin legit snipes"

In my opinion people who played or grew up doing halo 2 in those golden years are better players and understand how to act online.

That's a good post. H2 was the first online game i played, so I took for granted the ease of use of its party and matchmaking systems.

Once you see other games, you see how Halo 2 was truly groundbreaking in how it dealt with XBL, and it's legacy lives on in the subsequent Halo games.
