Subject: Can someone give me a guide for completing Chasm Ten on solo!

So far I have been able to do all the firefight maps on solo without a problem, but chasm ten is really giving me a problem. Every time I play all the enemies have invincibility on, which is the thing that is annoying me, so does anyone have an easy to follow guide on completing Chasm ten on solo and getting the 200,000 points achievement.

I'd say Chasm Ten is probably the hardest map to do solo. There are 6 enemy entrances on to the map, quite a lot of pathways up and down to the two levels, and frequent double engineer spawns. The only thing I can really say is always take out the engineers first.

Btw, engineers give all near enemies overshield, not invincibility, although they do look a lot alike. You can still kill grunts, jackals, and helmet-less brutes with a pistol/carbine headshot while they have overshield.

Another Btw: Gamefaqs.com might have a good firefight guide.

take out those energy aleian things that float and you should have them on with out any sheilds and use the sniper to kill the brutes easyly

Ok thanks about the engineers thing about the overshields, it was the only thing in the way for me completing the achievement, beforehand it was taking too long and I was wasting too much ammo on all the enemies with the overshields.

Nevermind about the Gamefaqs guide, it doesn't have any really good advice.

We Surround Them!

Chasm Ten? Solo? Finally ... someone that thinks they can do a map solo without begging for assistance from people!

Yes, Chasm Ten is difficult but not impossible on Solo. I've done it both on Easy and Normal difficulties. The tricks I have found are:

1) Don't use up your power weapons (Fuel Rod Cannon, Rockets, Sniper Rifle, Machine Gun Turret). Leave the Rockets until you know Hunters are coming or for the final wave before the end of a Round when you'll get Chieftains carrying Hammers or Fuel Rod Cannons.

And don't forget -- an overcharged PP is a MUST to take down those Engineers the second you spot one! Always have some lying around in key locations near doorways or on the walkway where your SMG & AutoMag ammo racks are located.

2) Stay on the high ground and use the lower level as an escape route - when going down to that lower level rip off a turret (if you have time) and take it back up the lift with you and deposit it near one of the doorways central doorways so you can grab one and run backwards firing at a crazed Brute Chieftain or Hunter who chases you into the corridors.

3) Use the Hammer sparingly! The force of your Hammer hit can often send you off the narrow ledges and dropping into an abyss where you'll die, especially if you turn on Cowbell.

4) DO NOT TURN ON COWBELL - but DO use Grunt Birthday Party! Your AutoMag should be your main weapon of choice with a Plasma Pistol as your secondary during the first 4 waves, swapping out the AutoMag for a Silenced SMG when you spot Buggers. Of course if you're low on AutoMag youcan always grab a Carbine, but still try to refrain from popping Brute shielding with the Carbine -- instead use the PP/Carbine combo.

5) Be aware of the location of all your Health Packs and ammo. Try and save one Covenant baddie at the end of a round (something minor - a Jackal, Grunt, or shield-stripped Brute) and go grab the Sniper Rifle ammo (top level) or the Rocket Ammo (bottom level) if you are low and find yourself carrying this as a weapon. Trying to grab them between waves is asking for a death!

6) Use the long corridor as your safe haven and learn to jump down the uplift tubes to the lower levels (where you spawn) when you need a quick escape route that will be free of followers or enemy forces down below. The next safest route are some small ledges that protrude from between the upper and lower levels and then a quick drop into one of the doorways nearby.

Doing Chasm Ten Solo on Easy will take about 3 hours or more. On Normal you can accomplish it in about 2 hours or less. Follow these simple steps and the rest should be a piece of cake.
