I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record. >_<

First thing's first. Halo Custom Edition will not:
- randomly "lose" maps that you install
- lag your computer any more than Halo PC
- mess up your current instalation of Halo PC

Please note that Halo Custom Edition is an entirely separate install from Halo PC (HPC). It will not touch your HPC instalation. At all. In fact, you don't even need to have HPC installed for Halo CE to work (although you will need the CD key), but I personally keep HPC around for single player campaign.

Halo Custom Edition boasts several improvements over normal Halo multiplayer, such as improved rendering, less lag, and support for custom maps, just to name a few. You should definitely download, install, and stick with it for your multiplayer adventuring.

If you have questions regarding how to install custom maps, go here.

If you have any other questions regarding Halo CE, they can probably be answered quickly by reading the FAQ that is linked to in my signature.
