So I've tried my hand at Halo fan fiction. Hope you enjoy this as I plan to write more!
Halo :: All Along the Coast :: Part 1
:Military calendar, October 20th 2552
:New Mombasa Sea Front
As soon as I came round, I knew it was bad. There was no pain. For the first 3 or 4 seconds I just stared up at the sky, refusing to move from the position I landed in, and that is were I would have happily had it end. Yet, the end didn't come. Instead, I was bombarded by all my senses returning. The dreadful ringing in my ears was starting to resemble the ongoing battle and the waves crashing against the rocks running along the sea front, my mouth, full of sand and grit, and my eyes beginning to focus on the Phantom drop ships and Hornets fighting for air superiority. My helmet and weapon were out of reach. The Red Cross predominantly featured on the side of my helmet.
Then the view of the sky and plasma fire were blocked by a rugged looking man. His lips were moving, but it was hard to hear the words coming from him.
"Oh man, can you hear me?" He shouted over the bellowing of plasma rounds and grenades.
"J... just!" I muttered.
"We were caught off guard, didn't see the wraiths until it was too late, the mortar round hit about 5 metres from you. Your bag and gear took most of the impact, we managed to get it off and roll you onto your back but your leg got caught up in some of the splash damage, it looks bad, but you're the medic. So you better take a look."
"There's no pain!"
"Is that good? Or bad? It has to be good!" The man yelled showing signs of panic.
"It means the plasma burnt down into my nerves." I tried to listen to his response but my eye lids started to feel heavy.
"Tell us what we need to do!" The man shouted.
Becoming unconscious during a battle is never good, but at least when the end came, I wouldn't know about it, and if I'm honest. I'd rather have it that way.
