Halo 2 is never dead, so long as we all avidly play its epic campaign! This forum and Halo 2 Vista prove that the game isn't dead in the slightest. ;)

What are your favourite campaign moments, H2F? Funny, strange, scary, bewildering, awesome, cruel, happy and brilliant moments are all welcome here!

For me:

Happy: Being a lone Spartan, wandering through Forerunner structures....

Awesome: Putting down the Brute rebellion as the Arbiter! Wort wort wort! Also killing Tartarus!

Scary: Not me personally, but seeing the Youtube video of the FLOOD JUGGERNAUT mod! Modding the Juggernaut into a Master Chief level...crap scary!

I let my stepson take the first run on H-2. When he got to a Whisper in the Storm, we looked at each other in disbelief. It was a great moment that I've never had equalled. Unreal.

Lol, I wish I could do that.

Happy: My grandson and I got handed the disk about 12:15 am. We got home about 1:00 am and played all night.

Awesomes: When the Scarab first fired in the OS tunnel, we did not expect that so we were startled. When we found the Blind skull we thought "What the hell is this, is there more of these things"? And yes, Arbiters sword. Then after my grandson finished Campaign, I got the controls. After watching him my hands were shaking and I was giggling like a school girl.

Funny: Grunty's

Scary: Nothing scary like CE although Sacred Icon was creepy.

Happy:
1. Playing the Campaign for the first time.
2. Playing co-op and completing Cairo Station on Legendary for the first time.
3. Getting the Scarab gun.

Funny:
1. Accidently killing myself with the Scarab gun.
2. I was playing Outskirts on Legendary and a Grunt stuck me on the foot and before I blew up I jumped which propelled me over the doors the Hunters burst through and I landed in Sniper Alley.

Awesome:
1. Driving outside the boundaries on Delta Halo
2. Being in a 3 way fight in the Mausoleum.

Even though I prefer CE, this is a great thread for H2!

Happy:
1-All of the great views and odd angles of fire you can obtain with the help of the Sputnik skull. One of the things that I prefer in CE is the variety of tactics and weapons combo's you can use to play the same battles in different manners. With the ability to leave the normal field of battle and move into different elevated parts of the maps, this gives H2 one advantage that makes me smile.
2-The skulls, they are a great addition to the game in the way that they do bring in variety and create different challenges during gameplay. I am all about being challenged!

Funny:
1-Marine dialogue is very amusing, even without IWHBYD. The Grunt dialogue is a riot with IWHBYD, there are times that I will just stand there swapping weapons or meleeing a friendly to hear what they have to say with that skull active.
2-Girl Marines! A very cool and fun addition to the game.

Awesome:
1-Combining Sputnik, Catch and Grunt Birthday Party.....when you wait for the head shot until after you have taken out several enemies with plasma or body shots in a small area, the resulting explosion when you finally do head shoot a Grunt or Jackal to set off dropped grenades....well, that carnage is just too good to pass up!
2-The evil-deadly accuracy of Jackal snipers on legendary, and the even more satisfying vision of them dying, I love that flip head over heels that they do!

Awesome: nade jumping with sputnik

Happy: finishing the game on legendary

My cousin's down so we just went through it twice! Brings back all the glitchy memories I had at the LAN parties if you know what I mean.

Back when I was obsessed with gaming, I used to play Halo 2 from start to finish every night for many months in 2005, and then stare at the metal case during the final song in the credits thinking about what Halo 2 should have been, and what we were all lead to believe it would be before it released.

Oh, Those were the days.
And hopping from platform to platform using the Cowbell Skull and a couple of Plasma Grenades.

Happy: Hanging with my best friends, Doing crazy stuff on Metropolis.

Awesome: Figuring out how to get the Foundation level and how eerie, Silent, And empty it felt. And the New Mombasan bridge....That will never cease to amaze me.

Scary: Quarantine Zone. That place was dark and creepy. And there was a sense of death with all that fire and destruction. And the Flood, IN a Scorpion! There's nothing scarier than that!

Cowbell - Don't you mean Sputnik?

Scary: Quarantine Zone.Yeah, till someone here told me that Black Eye will turn off the snow. Then it wasn't creepy anymore.

All throughout history great empires rise and fall. How you ask?
Two reasons:
1. Economic failure because of either inflation or socialistic programs.
2. War. Their armies were spread too thin and too far from home.

The United States has bases all around the world in "hazardous" areas and it's economy collapses it seems every 20 years. Do you really think that history won't change? Do you really think that you can run the world?

All I have to say is getting out of campaign maps is awesome. Especially delta halo.

Sputnik! That was it!
I knew that it wasn't Cowbell but I knew people would know what I meant by that! Hahah, Thanks!

I still haven't gotten all of the Halo Two Skulls so I didn't know about that snow glitch....That's pretty cool.:)

I'm playing through this game on legendary. So far I've only gotten to gravemind but I'll probably redo Sacred Icon and Quarantine Zone first because I just ran past everything in those two levels.

So far, the hardest parts have been the Off the Rock, through the Bush, Nothing but Jackal section of Delta Halo; the submerged section of Regret; and the part where you have to kill Regret.
In the first two difficult sections, things got really aweful with drones. Also, the occasional snipe from that one jackal you didn't see didn't help things either. In the Regret fight, I only got one checkpoint and I kept getting owned by the elites. I tried doing everything but the only thing that worked was to just ignore them as much as possible and hope for the best.

I didn't have a lot of trouble with sniper jackals because there is usually a checkpoint right before you fight them so if they kill you, you don't have to redo any really long fights. The worst encounter with them is probably the part in Metropolis where you have to kill about thirteen or so and one death means you have to start all over. For the most part, they were just annoying.

BTW, a random funny thing I found one day is if you shoot the top of the gas canisters in Outskirts. You can only do it to the ones that have the "caps" on top of them. It works the best if you use the battle rifle. If everything goes right, they start flying around the level.

Yup, if you get to Black Eye and activate it you can make a profile for QZ and go start it. Then just save and quit after the first checkpoint, eject the disk (to eliminate Black Eye). Then when you resume the QZ save, the snow will be gone forever and you will not have Black Eye.
