I started the Tuesday night before last Tuesday, and last Monday, I finally beat Halo on Legendary, even though I've had it since late 2004. Some things I realized:
1. Elites are truly awesome enemies. You hate them, but you get such a feeling of accomplishment. I guess I never noticed this because I was always playing on Easy before.
2. The Library is not the worst or most annoying level. The way it was hyped, I was waiting for an absolute hellhole. The worst moment was the time you're sandwiched between two doors and you have to survive against an onslaught of Flood, and I was stuck there for about ten minutes. Otherwise, the level was common sense and dodging a few cheap tricks (Flood with rocket launchers never killed me, surprisingly).
3. As a continuation, the hardest level was Keyes. The canyons beneath the ship were a nightmare. At one part, I died about fifteen times before getting it right. Even in the ship, it wasn't a cakewalk.
4. The Warthog Run wasn't hard at all if you knew about those goddamn health packs. I swear, I never realized those health packs at the beginning of the warthog run, so I kept doing it with three bars of health left. Then I accidentally picked up the health pack and beat the run immediately. It was all a matter of getting past those damn sentinels.
5. Seeing Johnson with that Elite was very, very satisfying.
This is all I can think of right now. And yes, I know this is a slightly blog-style post, but I think we can still discuss nuances of how we feel on this, right?
Am I right, marines?
