I started the Tuesday night before last Tuesday, and last Monday, I finally beat Halo on Legendary, even though I've had it since late 2004. Some things I realized:

1. Elites are truly awesome enemies. You hate them, but you get such a feeling of accomplishment. I guess I never noticed this because I was always playing on Easy before.

2. The Library is not the worst or most annoying level. The way it was hyped, I was waiting for an absolute hellhole. The worst moment was the time you're sandwiched between two doors and you have to survive against an onslaught of Flood, and I was stuck there for about ten minutes. Otherwise, the level was common sense and dodging a few cheap tricks (Flood with rocket launchers never killed me, surprisingly).

3. As a continuation, the hardest level was Keyes. The canyons beneath the ship were a nightmare. At one part, I died about fifteen times before getting it right. Even in the ship, it wasn't a cakewalk.

4. The Warthog Run wasn't hard at all if you knew about those goddamn health packs. I swear, I never realized those health packs at the beginning of the warthog run, so I kept doing it with three bars of health left. Then I accidentally picked up the health pack and beat the run immediately. It was all a matter of getting past those damn sentinels.

5. Seeing Johnson with that Elite was very, very satisfying.

This is all I can think of right now. And yes, I know this is a slightly blog-style post, but I think we can still discuss nuances of how we feel on this, right?

Am I right, marines?

During my runthrough on Legendary, I had a lot of trouble on 343 Guilty Spark, I surprisingly got past Keyes rather quickly. After spending hours beating this game on Legendary, you then transfer over to Halo 2 and realize how impossible it is...

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling some trepidation about Halo 2.

The move from CE to 2 on legendary definately has its challenges. The 2 biggest items that make it harder in my book are the Jackal snipers (on Leg they are damn near omnipresent, and of course rarely miss) and the dependence on vehicles to a much greater extent than in CE. In CE you could often choose to not use a vehicle when it was available, in H2 you really have to use it or it is just impossible to get through the next part of the level. Being in a vehicle in H2 is like having a much bigger and more magnetic target on your butt than in CE. When you have skulls active it can be even more of a nightmare. Once I "mastered" the game, I found myself not even playing those levels anymore, they were just not fun to me.

On Outskirts I'm gonna hop on the pelican, jump to the buildings, and bypass the whole sniper section.

Can't do that on Delta Halo, though. D:

The level is bad because it's long, boring and easy. Difficulty would make it more fun.

I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

The Library isn't actually that bad. I find it to be one of the funner levels in the game.

When you pass through the cave with that waterfall and into the huge canyon area where there are tons of sniper jackals, it's really easy to just bypass that whole part. That cuts down some time.

library is my favorite mission of all time, no joke it really is

i agree with you on the libery. its easy if you use pistals at a safe distance and shotgun 4 the parts with the dors. it takes about an hour to beat. keys is like OMG.

ya i got halo at 6 and beat it on easy. and played the last level on easy when i finely found the health packs at the age of 10. when i was on legondary with my cuz.

and with the eliets i always feel saticfied when i kill them.

now 15 and halo ce is still the best first person shooter of all time.

I REALLY enjoyed this level also. Even though the first time I played it was on my Two-Thousand and Three Macintosh, With a horrid graphics card that made everything within Thirty feet a bright blue that blended together, Hiding pitfalls. But, I will have to say that Three Four Three Guilty Spark was the hardest for me. The constant flow of Infection Forms and the confusing, Winding passages all contributed to the difficulty.

P.S. The Assault On The Control Room was my favorite. Halo being my second.:)

Ah yes, Halo on Legendary. Good times.

I agree though, the hardest part for me was the Keyes. There are some parts where you just can't catch a break.
