Is this a serious question? The CE Magnum is a four-shot-kill against shielded enemies; the ODST Magnum doesn't do jack -blam!- unless you already take their shields down with other weapons/melee. The CE Magnum can kill anything at any range, the ODST Magnum only works against stuff that already lost its shields.

Three shot kill, my friend. Three shots.

The Halo 1 magnum. It does like 7 times as much damage and holds twice as much ammo.

Oh shi-!

*builds shrine to CE pistol*

My favorite thing about it when I first started playing was that if you shoot a wall and watch the bullethole, the bullet sticks in the wall for a few seconds and then literally explodes. I was like "This gun isn't cool enough with everything it has, they had to make the ammo f-cking EXPLODE!" :D

Proud tester of the Halo 3 beta.

Halo 1 Magnum, hurr durr.

........Is this a joke?

In ODST, you can't even take something down normal shots. It does absolutely no damage to brute shields. Seriously, try killing a grunt with non-headshots in ODST.

Looks: ODST magnum.
Everything else: Halo ce magnom

Are you kidding? The Halo pistol looks more rugged. The only way it could be more badass is if it were a... revolver or something. The Halo 1 pistol is Solid Snake to ODST's Justin Bieber. That said, it can kick ass when used with a Plasma pistol.

I always find it funny when people call it the magnum. All the Halo 1 vets call it a pistol, and the people who started on Halo 2 and 3 call it the magnum.

I started in 2005 after Halo 2 was released, but the friend who got me into Halo got me into it by playing through both games' campaigns with me on Legendary. I didn't start on either game exclusively, it was both at the same time, and I call it the pistol. In fact, the only "magnum" in the Halo franchise was that little black peashooter from Halo 2, and it was specifically called as such in-game.

Mac

The Halo 1 magnum was better because of the range and the firepower.

I love Halo: Combat Evolved's pistol... but I love ODST's pistol even more. Yes, Halo: CE's pistol is stronger and more effective. But ODST's is quicker, snazzier, and more precise.

And when I'm playing solo on legendary, I always prefer to take out shields with a plasma or assault weapon, then take a one-shot-head-pop for the finisher. In those instances, ODST's is more effective. Its kewler too.

The CE pistol can take out shields and get the headshot. There's no need for a second weapon; with the ODST pistol, there is a need for a second weapon.

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

The melee on the CE pistol is just epic. A bit of Oomph, and a bit of twirlin my gun cuz I just [female-dog] slapped you.

I do like the ODST pistol more, though. Even with less damage, I get more satisfaction from killin [female-dog]s with it.

Like I said, I prefer to use an assault or plasma weapon to take out shields, especially when I'm facing elites on legendary; it takes more than three shots with a pistol to take out a shield in that scenario. Using a plasma rifle or pistol is more adept.

The Halo Combat Evolved M6D Handgun DOES actually have explosive/full metal jacked bullets. The cool thing is that it does a slight amount of splash damage (explosive damage effecting an area). Another epic aspect of the weapon is that it is fully automatic, (for you clueless people out there, that means that as long as you hold the trigger it keeps shooting) but fires slowly.

Two-three shots will take down a minor Elite's shields, (the dark blue Elites) and one more to the head, or two to the chest will kill it. A Hunter can be killed in one shot to the worm hive in its back, (orange stuff) or neck. Hitting the very center of a Jackal's child, or his hand, will cause him to react allowing for a quick headshot. Grunts can usually take 2-3 shots to the body/methane tank, or one shot to the head.

Flood Infection Forms (those little dudes) are always a one shot kill and a shot to the middle of a wave of Infection Forms will take out most, if not all, of them. Two shots will kill a Flood Carrier Form (the "fat round exploding things"). Elite Flood Combat Forms will usually die after 3-4 hits to anywhere on the body and one hit to the embedded Infection Form inside the chest. Human Flood Combat Forms will die after one shot to the embedded Infection Form or 2-3 shots to the body. Sentinels will usually be destroyed after 3-4 shots.

The M6D is VERY effective against vehicles (in campaign and multiplayer). A Ghost will usually explode after almost a whole clip. The same goes for a Banshee. A Wraith will usually take 2-3 entire 12 round clips to destroy. In multiplayer the M6D will kill a Spartan (with normal health settings on) in three shots to the head, or 6 shots to the body.

Here are the VERY few things the Halo 3: O.D.S.T. M6C/SOCOM has better then the M6D:

- It is a hitscan weapon, meaning that when you pull the trigger the "bullet" instantly goes to where you are aiming.

- If used with a modded controller, or a fast trigger finger then you can fire it faster then an M6D.

- It has less muzzle flash so you can stay on target

- It sounds cool...

Things that completely fail with the M6C/SOCOM:

- The suppressor does nothing. If fired with enemies around they will hear it no matter what.

- It does almost no damage to shields.

- The melee attack is slightly weaker when using it.

- If you shoot a Jackal Sniper or a Jackal Marksman in the head and they are wearing a face shield then it will do close to no damage.

- No splash damage.

- Do to the fact that IT IS the Halo 2 M6C with just a suppressor and smart-linked scope, does the same amount of damage, and has the same accuracy (when not using scope) it would be horrible against Elites, Flood (besides infection forms), and would not be a good in multiplayer (besides being quiet).

As you have probably figured out, i love the M6D. Anyone want me to compare the two assault rifles? LOL

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

The CE magnum was accidentally given double damage how can it not be better?

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

Halo: CE pistol.

Isn't the ODST Magnum the same thing only with a deferent model?

Halo reach magnum! ftw

Halo reach magnum! ftw

That is simply an early variation of the Halo 3 pistol with a smart-linked scope.
