The authors don't make it up. Bungie has a thing called the Halo Bible in which the whole story of Halo from beginning to end is explained. The authors take from that. They wouldn't be the official books of the Xbox game if the authors made it up.
Halo Bible? Where'd you get that? Maybe it exists, but I kind of doubt Jason Jones really knows what the end of the Halo story will bring. They probably have a foggy idea, but things often change over time. And think about the number of sequels. Does Bungie really know how many Halo games they'll make? I don't think anyone who works there knows either. How long will they milk the series? One or two more games, I hope. I've never played ONI but that sort of ties into the Halo storyline, doesn't it? When they wrote that game, do you think they really knew what would happen in Halo 2? hehe... so yeah....
anyway um. I agree with the thread's subject line. They wont include anything in the game that requires you to have read the books to understand. Halo 1 knowledge will be suffice. and even people who haven't played Halo 1 and start off on Halo 2 (if such people exist) will probably be able to pick up everything just as easily. I'm guessing they'll have like a "let's recap what happened from Halo 1" section or something. but eh. Of course the books probably help you to understand things that people who haven't read them wont get. but they wont say anything that requires you to read em.... so. probably just repeating what other people have said. but eh.
I wonder if the game will include anything about a Queen or Widow, as the bee site suggests. again, you probably wont have to have any knowledge of the ilovebees campaign, but if you know what it is, you'll be able to smile a little more when you play the game and they refer to it.
