I was thinking yesterday about cool things Reach could do for its Legendary ending. I saw one guy saying he'd like to see that first cutscene from HCE recreated with modern graphics, and that got me thinking about it. But it occured to me, Halo 2 didn't have a Legendary ending, and if it did, I never saw it. HCE had that little extra bit where Johnson and that Elite are fighting over his Assault Rifle and then hug when they see the Pillar of Autumn start to explode; Halo 3 had that bit where you see the Chief's ship fly past that mysterious planet with all the Forerunner symbols on it; even ODST had a Legendary ending, showing Truth excavating the Ark Portal.

Why did Halo 2 not have a Legendary ending like all the other games, and if it did, what happened? No, the bit with Cortana and Gravemind was not the Legendary ending. That happens on all difficulties.

The bit with Cortana and Gravemind should have been the Legendary ending, but sadly it wasn't. It would have made sense.

There probably was no Legendary ending due to the intense rushing Bungie had to do in just over nine months in preparation for Halo 2's 11/09/04 release.

All throughout history great empires rise and fall. How you ask?
Two reasons:
1. Economic failure because of either inflation or socialistic programs.
2. War. Their armies were spread too thin and too far from home.

The United States has bases all around the world in "hazardous" areas and it's economy collapses it seems every 20 years. Do you really think that history won't change? Do you really think that you can run the world?

I agree, the last bit between Cortana and Gravemind should have been the legendary ending.
