That's a great find Cypriss. I didn't see anyone mention that the year
117 was the height of the Roman Empire. 14 days of fighting eh? 14
divided by 2 equals seven. =)

how long does it take to glass a planet?

The Covenant don't glass Earth, it has something they want.

i didn't say earth did i. i'm looking for a general time frame. if they started glassing on the 10th when would it finish?

Yeah, I figured that. Sorry if I came across as rude. I don't know much
about Covenant technology, so for all I know it could take 14 days
for the Covies to set up and glass Earth.

Found this...

"The battle of Adrianople was the beginning of the end for the Roman empire. This battle was fought between Roman emperor Valens and the Goths on August 9, AD 378. It took place ten miles outside the city of Adrianople, which is now the city of Edirne, Turkey. This critical battle also established the dominance of cavalry over infantry for the next thousand years."

I'll post anything else I find.

This is a link to more info on the battle of Adrianople.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Adrianople_%28378%29

40,000 casualties. That's nuts.

Agreed. This is a good correlation. I wonder if the ARG's took this into consideration. They found a LOT of the text hidden in the pics is related to Julius Caesar. Good find.

peace!

also one of the dialogs from ilovebees there is a story referencing a man whole sailed with Odysseues. More ties to Rome and Troy. Any names of the people who sailed with Odysseus stand out as someone who is in the Halo universe?

A man that seemed noble, classical and pure. A sailor with Odysseus.

Julius Ceasar's last words were "Et tu Brute?" after he was betrayed.
Latin for "and you Brute?" It doesn't take a genius to figure out the
connection between this and the new Brutes in Halo 2.

So do the Brutes betray the head prophet? or betray the covenant in any other way? since its similar to Cearsar's last words."Et tu Brute?"

I would think it would take more like 14 hours to glass an average size planet not 14 days logically that is way too long, btw i read the book ind i dont seem to recall anything about the planet Troy

14 hours seems a little short seeing how they are criss-crossing the entire surface of the planet.

You could be right but i dont really know, im guessing it depends on how many ships there are. I there was only one i would think it would take about 14 days

well they hate elites and if halo 2 is similar to roman history and if the head prophet is similar to ceasar then it may be possible.if the roman history has any connection to Halo 2 ounce so ever which it may or may not.

Thats why they named it the spartan project. The Spartans were the most fearce warriors even the women trained becuase there might be a chance that the children would inhert the strength from the Male and Female not just the male. It was realy some weird stuff. Also they only learned about war and fighting nothing else.

DON'T LIE. The majority of "insurgents" were foreign Arabs. They weren't fighting for their culture, but to kill Americans. You traitor--all American enemies are lilly-white "innocents", is that it? And the beheadings/kidnappings in Iraq--that's not terrorism, just concern for the culture? You really are a jackass and a puss.

terrorist?

do you have any idea what a terrorist is, and when someone is a terrorist? you are not a terrorist if you do not obey the rules of the rich. like the Iraqi people, they desperately try to save their culture and beliefs, like the Humans desperately try to save their world, belief, culture and their lives, to the invading Covenants. think about that. who's the Covenant here on the planet...
