i just got the Game informer mag with what looks to be a flame thrower turret . first it has what appears to be a huge flame coming from barrel, and it also has a propane tank looking thing mounted under the barrel. this may have been posted before and if it has just IGNORE, thanks. but curious as to if other agree that this is what this image is or what?

If it was a flame-thrower turret, GI would have said so. and turrets are generally made long, if not medium range, a flame-thrower, especially the one in Halo (pc) is short range. I don't think bungie would make something that utterly pointless.

I think its a flame thrower turrent. Bungie already made a mounted machine gun. perhaps its a long range flame thrower.

What would the point be in a "flame thrower turret"
my head hurts too much- Youre gonna have to think for yourself.

A flame thrower turret would be like saying "Hay everyone, I'm over here!!!"

It's a LAAG like turret...

OK!! look at the e3 demo again! when you walk by the two marines shooting through holes in the wall, one of them is using the same turret that is shown in the GI article, take that!

hey puma, nice, i checked the video again, you are definitely right. good eyes. i appreciate it. i am still hoping for a flame thrower though. and i have to say to those who see no use for flame throwers. in vietnam they were extensively used in any places where tunnels and long corridors (which are in halo quite a bit) were. they are extremely good in places like that to flush enemys hiding out. and the cool thing is anyone carrying a flamthrower is like a walking bomb. just shoot the tank. god that would be fun anyways. thanks puma

Yup its just a regular turret with a big muzzle flash and a big frickin' ammo canister.

Now if you want more proof: Tip the picture sideways, and read carefully whats on the canister, it reads: "Cartridges: 7.62 mm Caseless".....regular ammo. ( actually the same ammo the Halo 1 AR uses! ).

Thank God, cuz flamethrower turrets would be the worst most ineffective weapon ever!
