I don't know if this has been brought up, but the countdowns on ILB and the official Halo 2 website are exactly in sync.

The Countdown on ILB to the 24th is in sync with the Countdown on Halo 2 web site to November 9th. They are not counting down to the same time, but they are changing seconds at the exact same time.

umm no it doesn't the countdown runs off the system clock of your computer. believe me i do countdown clocks

alright, but it does seem like more than just a coincedence

it isn't a coincidence. they are acting like they are programmed to do. everyone who writes countdown programs uses the system time from your computer be it java, C++ or visual basic. so therefore since they are calculating the time left from the exact same source the seconds will tick away at the same rate(unless they use some really goofy timer delays).

well i do believe that they were created by the same comp/network considering that both computers that created it (if were wrong) are on the EXACT time.

i did check it. so what it isn't interesting. it doesn't prove anything. i programmed one version of my countdown timer at work i done another version at home. you couldn't tell the difference between the two.

Of course they're syncronized.

ALL Internet clocks run off your system clock on your PC. Meaning, You can set it to Aug. 24th, and the countdown will be at 0.

if i have a countdown til 8/24 and a countdown to tomorrow the Hours, Minutes, Seconds will all be the same because you are counting down to the end of the day. IE: August 10th is 5 days 10 hours 7 minutes from now, August 24th is 18 days 10 hours 7 minutes from now
