Since apparently the Eastern Protectorate is New Mombasa in the future, I think some of you should know a little about this real, authentic place.
If you copy this link to your address bar and hit enter it should pull up a map of Mombasa:

Here's a excerpt on what the current city is like:
Mombasa is the gateway to Kenya's coast and some of the world's most beautiful beaches and reefs. The largest port in East Africa and Kenya's second city, Mombasa is hot, steamy and slightly scruffy, which is perhaps a tribute to its long history. First visited by a Greek explorer in the second century, Mombasa has been a trading town for centuries. By the 14th century it was a major trading centre for Arabs and Chinese and a Muslim haven, but in the late 15th century the Portuguese sailed in and started the first of their onslaughts. After initially resisting the attack, the citizens were finally forced to give in after a tribe of cannibals, the Zimba, gained entrance to the city by posing as anti-Portuguese mercenaries and then commencing to eat the local population. In 1593 the Portuguese built Fort Jesus as a military base and it had changed hands nine times by 1875. Today the fort dominates the old town and is a reminder of Mombasa's chaotic past. Not surprisingly there is a strong sense of history in this languid tropical town.

What does this mean? Coasts? Beaches? As I pointed out in another thread this could be perfect spot for a water level (as "Docks" are listed on a sign in the demo), or at least a new level to show of the infamous water effects they've been engineering for the sequel. It could also mean that there will be tropical, or jungle landscapes on the outskirts, maybe even preserves where combat is going on in a savannah or boggy lagoon, which would allow for more ambient life like insects, reptiles and possibly other animals (things which could add to the immersion).
Something to think about...
